Article: August 29

Hello. I added a few days ago in the August 29 article that Bizarrap was born that day in 1998. Now I receive a message from you saying that it was removed because I "didn't provide a reliable source". My source was... ¡wikipedia!. In the Bizarrap page everybody can read that he was born 29 August, 1998. 217.113.250.252 (talk) 22:44, 19 August 2023 (UTC)

Hey there. Per my edit summary, WP:DOYCITE requires that additions include a direct inline citation, and specifically says that links to articles aren't sufficient. Additionally, Wikipedia is not a reliable source. bojo | talk 22:19, 22 August 2023 (UTC)

Ben Needham

Hi Bojo, thanks for your notification. Perhaps I left the YouTube link to The Ben Needham case in the wrong place? As I have been instrumental in seeking answers to Ben’s case since 2003, and I am contacted by people from all around the World with possible sightings, it is important to getting a resolution to this case, if the YouTube Channel and or my own URL www.IanCrosby.com can be included somewhere in Ben Needhams Wiki page. Can you please advise?

thank you. The Answer is Somewhere (talk) 16:20, 27 August 2023 (UTC)

@The Answer is Somewhere: Hi there! I'd recommend you review Wikipedia's policies on conflicts of interest, external links, and also specifically COI external links. As a general rule, you should not add links or information about yourself or a group you represent to an article. If you feel like that information would genuinely be helpful to readers, you can request the edits be made on the article's talk page so that other editors can weigh in and help assess whether what you want to add is actually beneficial. If you have further questions, I'd encourage you to ask at the teahouse, or you can feel free to reply back to me here. bojo | talk 16:45, 27 August 2023 (UTC)

Why did you remove my thingy on the john brooks referee page?

tyrone mings never kicked jordan henderson in the chest, literally just look up "tyrone mings kick liverpool" and it will come up with cody gakpo with a cut up chest, no need to remove my correction mate Themanoftheman98 (talk) 23:48, 27 August 2023 (UTC)

@Themanoftheman98: hey there. When you made the change, you didn't include any kind of citation to a reliable source (saying "just look it up" isn't sufficient - that doesn't help any future readers who want more information). The original text didn't have one either so I went ahead and removed it to make sure there wasn't any incorrect information being presented. If you want to re-add it please do so, just make sure to include an in-line citation when you do. If you have any questions please feel free to ask the Teahouse or ask me here! Happy editing! bojo | talk 02:53, 28 August 2023 (UTC)
