English edit

Drogi Bocianski, following your request, I've taken the immediate opportunity and done some work on this page:

  • copyediting to native English (see the page's "History: compare selected versions" for details)
  • some rewriting for historical sequence, including internal links.
  • a note on the article's Discussion page: need for further details of the liberation forces, to explain and give credit where it's due.

I've noted your request for expansion. This will take some library research, which I can undertake to only a limited degree due to time constraints, as I'm presently engaged in much work on the Hebrew Wikipedia's "quality circle" on Holocaust topics that also has a time value. I've added the page to my watchlist, and will edit (as above) any new material you're able to provide. May I add my appreciation and willingness to collaborate with a Polish colleague in writing on the WWII period, especially regarding the Jews and antifascist resistance. -- Best regards, Deborahjay 23:34, 24 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hebrew edit

Per your repeat request, and knowing the unlikelihood that anyone else would do this in the near future (see my previous comment noting current activity among Hebrew Wikipedians), I set aside other priorities (in Wikipedia and overall) and have done the following:

  • Created the article in Hebrew.
  • Noted on its Discussion page: Per request of a Polish editor [link to User page:Bocianski], I've created this page translated from the English. For starters, it includes basic identifying information and the town's history during the Holocaust. As I'm a relatively new Wikipedia editor, and due to the poverty of my Hebrew, the article requires further editing.
  • Added the Hebrew as an interwiki link in the English:

Please note that I don't usually translate into Hebrew, so this was a special effort.
A reciprocal request: Please do the following:

  • Add the Hebrew as an interwiki link in the other eight language editions, thus: [[he:קונסקובולה]]

Thanks, Deborahjay 08:32, 1 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

AfD nomination of Belarusian Wikipedia edit

An editor has nominated Belarusian Wikipedia, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Articles on invidiual Wikipedia language editions and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. Speedway edit

Please do not replace the Speedway riders category with Polish Speedway Riders. It is the second time I have had to revert the articles. The category is totally unneccssary. Hammer1980 12:08, 5 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hm. I think that category Polish speedwy riders is much more better and more stricter. All these men were/are speedway riders. Why do you prefer other category? Bocianski 12:24, 5 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Why just Polish ? Every nation needed if one nation of riders is taken from the list. It is then harder to find speedway riders of ALL nations.Hammer1980 09:09, 10 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Why not Polish? See. In category Category:Polish motorcycle racers we have 5 riders, right? All are 1) Poles and 2) racers and - all - 3) speedway riders. We know, that all speedway riders are motorcycle racers, so we can write that category Polish speedwy riders is stricter subcategory of Polish motorcycle racers. They Poles are not generally motorcycle racers - read, all are exactly speedway racers. They had success like a speedway riders. So, category Polish speedwy riders is better. Where is a problem do category for all nation, which have 5 or more speedway riders? I not see. Bocianski 11:35, 10 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

It is totally unneccesary to make more subcategories than needed. I don't see why we need 'stricter' categories. A speedway rider is a speedway rider wherever he/she is from. Why remove them from speedway riders category ? If it is that important why not make it an additional category rather than removing the speedway riders category ? It is easier to read a definitive list of all riders than looking at multiple subcategories. Hammer1980 13:37, 10 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

No. Making many unnecesary categories is typical for English Wikipedia. Some people talk about enwikization among others in sense to make many categories for articles. It's very simply process - all speedway riders are some kind of motorcycles riders, so it's normal and logic that category Polish speedwy riders should be a subcategory of Polish motorcycle racers and second Speedwy riders and also category Polish motorcycle racers is a cubcategory of Motorcycle racers and second, Polish sport people. Exactly like I did. We can have one good category, correct in category tree, but, how I think in many opinion is better to have two, because is too hard to make, read and search subcategory. Bravo. Please do how you prefer, I'm there only reading, translating to Polish and Russian and adding interwiki, I will not make reverts but I see that in my opinion you haven't right.
