Notability of Rochester Institute of Technology Model Railroad Club edit

A tag has been placed on Rochester Institute of Technology Model Railroad Club requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Corvus cornixtalk 00:24, 13 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Notability requires that there be multiple independent sources which discuss the organization as the primary focus of the article. Newspapers, books, magazines, reliable websites, the such. Corvus cornixtalk 03:45, 13 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Railroad maps edit

Having written several rail company articles, I'm looking for railroad maps of the various companies that have operated in western New York, principally the BR&P. Is there a reliable source for such images? Thanks. --Coosbane (talk) 19:39, 5 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have made some maps (LAL, RSR, FGLK). Googling may provide you with maps of lines that you are interested in as well. If I have some time, I can try creating some ... which ones are you interested in (Besides the BR&P)?Boblenon (talk) 21:39, 9 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
These are the ones about which I have written and for whom I do not have usable map images. Anything relevant would be appreciated. Thanks! --Coosbane (talk) 03:09, 10 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

I went and made a map showing several of the lines between roch & syracuse [1]. If it looks good, feel free to link it on those articles which are applicable. Boblenon (talk)

RSR map edit

The RSR map (file:RSRSystemMap.jpg) is excellent. The next time you update it, you might want to correct the spelling of "Brookes Ave Yard", which is next to the Rochester airport. There is no "e" in Brooks, it should be "Brooks Ave Yard"; it is named for the road (Brooks Avenue) that narrows as it passes underneath it via an old RR bridge. Keep up the great work. Re: Industry Infobox edit

I've readded it, but not as the main infobox, the Erie infobox works better and has room for details that I've already added. Industry is an Erie station and works better there as one.Mitch32(Erie Railroad Information Hog) 22:05, 6 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
