I can't edit anything.

edit

Hello fellow Wikipedians, I can't edit anything. I am new here and I don't understand why I can't edit no pages at all. I would like to edit pages but I can't. I need help, someone please help me please. (Bobbyhill2 (talk) 05:13, 2 January 2018 (UTC))Reply

See Help:Editing. What pages were you trying to edit? You have edited here, so you can edit. Some popular pages are protected from editing by new users due to heavy amounts of vandalism. !dave 17:01, 2 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
For example, I can't edit on Nickelback's Silver side up page. It says I can't added it because my IP address is blocked, something like that. It says about some expiry date that is due on March of 2018. I am new here and I really don't understand this. I thought making a account would had been helpful for me to edit some pages but I can't. What should I do now?(Bobbyhill2 (talk) 18:17, 2 January 2018 (UTC))Reply
It appears that you are editing on a blocked IP address. See WP:IPEXEMPT, you can file for IP block exemption by filing an unblock request here, on this talk page; copy and paste {{unblock|reason=I need IP block exemption. My IP address is x ~~~~}} and replace 'x' with your IP address, which can be found by typing 'ip address' into the search bar and it will be the first result (Google). Do not copy and paste from edit mode.
If you wish to keep your IP address private, you can file an unblock request here, and I think you need to directly disclose it still, but only trusted members of that system will be allowed to see it. Regards, !dave 19:38, 2 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thank you but in the unblock request, it says that my IP address is not blocked and it says that my IP address is (73.60.8.33) but the one that I'm using is 2601:19A:4500:E7E:0:0:0:0/64 and that IP address is blocked. What can I do now?(Bobbyhill2 (talk) 22:07, 2 January 2018 (UTC))Reply

Hmm, this is out of my knowledge here. I have placed a template which shows that you require help from an administrator.
See above. !dave 23:15, 2 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the help but am I supposed to wait until a administrator checks on me?(Bobbyhill2 (talk) 23:47, 2 January 2018 (UTC))Reply

2601:19A:4500:E7E:0:0:0:0/64 was range blocked by Ferret for block evasion. Are you Strangeguy91 (talk · contribs)? NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 07:46, 3 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
@NinjaRobotPirate: Behavioral evidence suggests Strangeguy91. The sockmaster switched to editing from IP in November, and after range block, began using accounts again (Some of them years old). Hard block on the range was issued earlier this week to catch them. -- ferret (talk) 12:07, 3 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

Blocked but I am new?

I really didn't understand all of this. I had this account created for me so I can use it and edit stuff on Wikipedia. It turns out that some hate crime was against me for doing nothing, who are Mikeis1996 and that Strangedude something. Who are these people? (Bobbyhill2 (talk) 23:04, 3 January 2018 (UTC))Reply
