Adding non-notable names

edit

Hello. Your recent edit appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. Your recent editing history at Diamond Bar High School shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Notability

edit

Please see WP:BIO for the notability guidelines for individual biographies, and WP:AUTOBIOGRAPHY for advice to editors who wish to write about themselves. In general, individuals who do not already have an article on their own should not be mentioned in places as "notable people from X" Acroterion (talk) 00:49, 11 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please stop creating new sections on my talk page and asking the same question over and over again. The relevant policy links are WP:BIO and WP:NACTOR. I'm not posting them again. OhNoitsJamie Talk 01:41, 11 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

It's important to understand that nobody is saying you are not notable. What we are saying is that notability is not a given on Wikipedia, and we have standards that need to be followed. The appropriate guideline is, as noted above, WP:NACTOR. It is uncommon for a stunt person to meet those standards of notability. It can happen, for example in the case of Cheryl Wheeler-Dixon. But, observe that on that article there are citations to more than 20 independent, reliable sources to support notability of the person. In your case, you are asserting that IMDB is proof of notability. The problem is that it isn't. Please see WP:IMDB. IMDB is a user generated site, and is not considered reliable for sourcing standards on this project, nor is it means to establish notability of a subject. You'll need to find multiple reliable sources that are independent of the subject in order to make a claim of notability. You should also be aware of Wikipedia:Autobiography; writing about yourself is generally discouraged here. If you have questions, certainly ask. We're happy to help. But, please avoid edit warring as you did at Diamond Bar High School with this, this, and this. Trying to force your preferred version of an article into existence isn't going to work here, and can lead to a block of your editing privileges. Thanks, --Hammersoft (talk) 18:28, 12 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

I’m good thx I’ll get Diamond Bar to do it, I’m not just a stunt person I’m the first Hispanic Female huge difference! Anyhow. Thank you! Bleej9115 (talk) 19:15, 12 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Great! Find multiple reliable sources that are independent of the subject attesting to your fame, and we can start moving forward. Until then, no. Also, getting Diamond Bar High School to add you to the article about them isn't going to happen. We don't permit group accounts, and we wouldn't add you anyway to that article without multiple reliable sources that are independent of the subject. I hope you see the pattern here. --Hammersoft (talk) 20:16, 12 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
