We all have our "moments". :-) Have been trying to help at Backlog (which is where the no refs came up) and also with BLP backlog. The other day, when working Backlog, a Bio of someone who's deceased came up--having gotten into the BLP "mode", I looked at it for a second and wondered what it was doing here, since the person was no longer alive. :-)

Mary in Prison

Thanks for your input. That was my first guess also at the editor's intent. However, Mary's stint in the "pokey" was indefinite, and a quick look at some definitions shows that prison may also refer to a place of temporary incarceration. In any case, there was no definitive reason to make the change, and I thought it sounded better the other way, so there was no reason not to let the original wording stand. For whatever it's worth, sometime after our discussion, I heard the best description of the difference between jail and prison that I've ever heard. Specifically, jail is a place that people who have not yet been convicted of a crime can be put, whereas everyone in prison has been convicted of a crime.

Thanks, Jason. I'm working my way through the box set right now, averaging three every two weeks or so. After I watch each episode, I watch it again with David Mirkin's commentary. When I watched it upon initial broadcast in 1990 to 1992, I took the show at face value. Now, after a 20+ year hiatus, the commentary is giving me a whole new level of understanding about the show.
