Your first barnstar! edit

  The Editor's Barnstar
Despite initial setbacks with your Mission: Impossible character articles, you stuck with them throughout the AfD, and didn't stop working despite the articles being kept. Your bold decision to go ahead with the proposed merge to List of Mission: Impossible characters was impressive, and the hallmark of a good editor. Well done, and keep up the good work! I concur, well done, well deserved, brilliant work! Jdrewitt (talk) 10:14, 24 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Randolph (No Middle Initial) Agarn edit

Hi, my mistake - I thought it must have been placed (the 'no middle initial' bit) by someone fooling around. Have reset it. Thanks for letting me know why it was the way it was. B. Fairbairn (talk) 09:48, 28 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Peter Bonerz-You're Welcome! edit

We all have our "moments". :-) Have been trying to help at Backlog (which is where the no refs came up) and also with BLP backlog. The other day, when working Backlog, a Bio of someone who's deceased came up--having gotten into the BLP "mode", I looked at it for a second and wondered what it was doing here, since the person was no longer alive. :-)

Mary in Prison edit

Thanks for your input. That was my first guess also at the editor's intent. However, Mary's stint in the "pokey" was indefinite, and a quick look at some definitions shows that prison may also refer to a place of temporary incarceration. In any case, there was no definitive reason to make the change, and I thought it sounded better the other way, so there was no reason not to let the original wording stand. For whatever it's worth, sometime after our discussion, I heard the best description of the difference between jail and prison that I've ever heard. Specifically, jail is a place that people who have not yet been convicted of a crime can be put, whereas everyone in prison has been convicted of a crime.
Not sure if that definition is official or not, but it makes sense to me. --PoughkeepsieNative (talk) 13:12, 13 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks edit

I've never been given or responded to such a message, so forgive me if I am doing it incorrectly, but thank you for your kind words on my slight edit to the Jackie Coogan page. NaregSeferian (talk) 10 January, 2011

Thanks for Get a Life edits edit

Hi, PoughkeepsieNative. Cool to see another fan of Get a Life (TV series). Thanks for giving that article some love. Jason Quinn (talk) 17:09, 12 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, Jason. I'm working my way through the box set right now, averaging three every two weeks or so. After I watch each episode, I watch it again with David Mirkin's commentary. When I watched it upon initial broadcast in 1990 to 1992, I took the show at face value. Now, after a 20+ year hiatus, the commentary is giving me a whole new level of understanding about the show. And, bonus for me, there's some episodes I'm seeing for the very first time. PoughkeepsieNative (talk) 21:25, 12 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
