Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Kent Mesplay.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 02:49, 19 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Moving your user page and talk page

edit

Please don't move your user page and talk page. If you want to be renamed, you can request it at WP:CHU - and when they rename you, they'll also move your pages to their new location - and at this new location, the user page will still have the User: prefix. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 06:22, 19 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. A page you recently created may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for new pages, so it will shortly be removed (if it hasn't been already). Speedy deletion of P Bze

edit

Since you deleted my page can you show me what to do next time? you can email me at anthonylindseyjr@yahoo.com (Bigboytony (talk) 02:54, 22 December 2007 (UTC))Reply

Regarding your request for assistance: I would be happy to answer any questions you may have, provided that you first read WP:Notability, and WP:BAND. I believe that most questions about why articles are deleted under WP:CSD#A7 can be answered at the above two wikilinked pages. JERRY talk contribs 02:57, 22 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the tips i would enjoy it if you went and took a look at the new page at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P_Bze (Bigboytony (talk) 06:10, 22 December 2007 (UTC))Reply
I see that it was similarly deleted by another administrator. Please re-read the policies I outlined to you. They are really very clear as to what can be in wikipedia, and what can not. You may choose to instead edit an article on the music genre and make a small entry about the subject. Such an entry would require a source per WP:SOURCE, but might not be judged as hard on notability if it relates to the genre. JERRY talk contribs 15:48, 22 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on P Bze requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. How can i show importance in p bze article?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P_Bze —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bigboytony (talkcontribs) 06:27, 22 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

A quick read over Wikipedia's guidelines on people and notability may answer your question. Basically, at the moment, the only references the article has are to MySpace, which is not a reliable source. The other source is down at the moment, but I don't think that is quite enough. If you can establish notability with reliable sources then the article will be fine. Cheers, Master of Puppets Care to share? 06:34, 22 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks so much i'm very new to all this. how could make References over phone conversions? (P Bze and I have talked over the phone and he told me somethings about his life) (Bigboytony (talk) 06:42, 22 December 2007 (UTC))Reply
I don't think those would be usable; sorry. If he did an interview with someone reputable; for example, the newspaper or so; you could reference that. Does that help any? Cheers, Master of Puppets Care to share? 06:45, 22 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
Yes it does help. when or how long will the page be up before it is deleted? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bigboytony (talkcontribs) 06:50, 22 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
Well, if you think you can fix the issues I covered above, you can take as much time as you'd like; however, please give me an estimate (eg. 3 days) of the approximate time it'll take you. If you don't think you can fix the article at this time, just remove the {{hangon}} template.
Oh, and if at some point in time you want to recreate the article because you've got better references and so forth, feel free to do so! Cheers, Master of Puppets Care to share? 06:53, 22 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
Remember, MySpace isn't a reputable reference; social networking sites such as MySpace, Facebook and so are not references. The main reason why is because at the moment you're referencing the artist's notability with his own words; that's a chain effect. The article on the artist cannot be notable only because the artist says it is. Try finding some outside sources (newspapers, TV interviews, etc.) to establish notability. Cheers, Master of Puppets Care to share? 20:26, 23 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Suggestion: Please do not be discouraged. Try creating the page as a subpage in your userspace first. This will allow you to work on it and seek opinions from other editors such as User:Master of Puppets and myself before you go live. It will not be deleted from your userspace as long as you are actively improving it and as long as it does not violate WP:BLP. You may want to click this link and start there by clicking the "create/edit this page" link: User:Bigboytony/P_Bze. Hope this helps. JERRY talk contribs 16:00, 22 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

RE: online status userscript

edit

You would need to import the script found at User:Misza13/statusChanger.js into your monobook.js and then you would need to create a userspace status template like mine. You'd then want to transclude the template onto a page, such as your user or user talk page. Then, of course you'd have to bypass your browser cache for the monobook.js changes to take effect. If you don't know how to do any of that, I could do it for you. JERRY talk contribs 03:35, 23 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ok it is all done. If you bypass your browser cache, it should take effect. (If Internet Explorer, <CTRL>F5 ) You will see a few new things at the very top right corner of the screen... "in" "busy" "out". That's how you change the status. I put it on your user page at the top, and at the top of this talk page. JERRY talk contribs 03:51, 23 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits

edit

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. RE User:Bigboytony/P_Bze: with out the References being added can you tell me what you think? (Bigboytony (talk) 20:21, 23 December 2007 (UTC))Reply

Have a look... I removed some puffery and violations of WP:CRYSTAL, as well as marked some places where you would definately need to provide a reliable source per WP:SOURCE. I also saw a contradiction in the infobox versus the text in the article. Please note that the subjects own myspace page would be an example of a horrible source, and myspace pages in general are also. Blogs, journals, and personal webpages won't work either. Look for newspaper, magazine, editorials, books, movies, documentary films shown on television... things like that. Also you have not yet provided context for notability, but this will undoubtedly come as you find the kind of sources I mentioned.
By the way, did you try the User online/ offline thing yet? Does it work? JERRY talk contribs 21:11, 23 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
it works: will i thank it dose. dose it automatically change its Status? o ya thanks for the help pleases keep it coming!!! (Bigboytony (talk) 21:29, 23 December 2007 (UTC))Reply
No, read the bit above about bypassing your browser's cache, and expect to see new buttons for you to control the status. JERRY talk contribs 21:33, 23 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your You Tube Videos

edit

As you may be aware, YouTube has recently come in for criticism over it's attitude in relation to the use of (C) works.

Why not support projects that value creative talent and assist in ensuring that a viewing public can enjoy and expand upon it?

Wikimedia Commons is one project that needs creative content, (under licensing that lets people enjoy and expand upon it).

I note that you have a number of potentially intresting videos on You Tube.

It would be appreciated if you could seeing is they are possible to include on Wikimedia Commons, consider migrating videos for which you are the copyright owner to 'open' formats like Ogg Theora, and moving them from propriatey sites like YouTube to community sites like Wikimedia Commons (which support rather than exploit creative talent). Image source problem with Image:Eazymoneyvol3.jpg

edit

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Eazymoneyvol3.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 00:00, 1 August 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Calliopejen1 (talk) 00:00, 1 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
