we have a disgruntled terminated employee that has been editing our info page. The page I am referring to is "Channel Zero" the Toronto based broadcaster. Is there something we can do to stop them from editing our page?

Policies on warnings and page

Okay. I've had a look. I see that Channel Zero Inc. was edited on August 5th by Shizukesa with unsourced allegations. This is that user's only contribution to Wikipedia, and no other user that I can see has inserted questionable allegations. I have given the user a reminder on his or her talk page that information of that sort requires a verifiable, reliable source. At this point, his or her activities are not regarded as vandalism, because these additions may have been made in good faith and without awareness of Wikipedia's policies. If this user persists in adding libelous or defamatory material now that the policies have been pointed out, the warnings will escalate to the point that the user may be blocked. In extreme cases, administrators may choose to block the user without additional warnings. If multiple users are adding inappropriate material to a page, it can be protected by limiting who may edit it. At this point, that would not apply to Channel Zero Inc.. I've put the article on my personal watchlist and will keep an eye on it for a while in case the material is improperly reinserted. If you see that it is reinserted, feel free to remove it, but note that this might mean other editors will not notice the change and the warnings not be escalated. Thank you very much for your assistance. I have one last question, is it possible to find out some information about this user? Things like IP address, real name, things of this nature?

I'm sorry to say that question is a bit out of my range, so you may want to pose it specifically at the help desk where more editors will see it or even ask it directly of an operator at Wikimedia. Privacy Policy indicates that "When using a pseudonym, your IP address will not be available to the public except in cases of abuse, including vandalism of a wiki page by you or by another user with the same IP address." That would seem to imply that in cases of provable abuse the information will be released. Administrators have access to IP addresses of pseudonymous users. However, also according to that policy, "Wikimedia will not sell or share private information, such as email addresses, with third parties, unless you agree to release this information, or it is required by law to release the information." I know in previous court cases, Wikimedia has been treated as an ISP with all the protections and requirements attached to that. I also see at Wikipedia:Libel an invitation to contact Wikipedia by e-mail at info-en@wikipedia.org "If you believe that you are the subject of a libellous statement on Wikipedia."
