Speedy deletion nomination of Shreya Rawat

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Shreya Rawat requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. reddogsix (talk) 21:58, 11 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Purpose of Wikipedia

edit

Based on some comments you left on the now-deleted talk pages of articles you created, you seem to have a basic misunderstanding about the purpose of Wikipedia.

  • Wikipedia is an encyclopedia - a website to act as a general reference about topics that are deemed notable.
  • It is not a social media site or personal web page. Wikipedia is not about you and you should not be writing about yourself, your friends, your family members, your work or any other subject where you have a conflict of interest.
  • Editors have no right of ownership or editorial control over any page. Wikipedia is a collaborative project, and consensus is its fundamental model for editorial decision making.
  • Articles are paraphrased summaries of previously published material. You must provide citations to reliable sources that are independent of the topic being discussed. Unpublished personal knowledge or other original research is not allowed.
  • As mentioned above, a topic must be notable, as Wikipedia defines notability. It must have gained sufficiently significant attention by the world at large and over a period of time, and is not outside the scope of Wikipedia. We consider evidence from reliable and independent sources to gauge this attention.

Hopefully this advice will guide you in any future contributions. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 23:25, 11 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
