The wikEdlogo

Hi, I have seen that you are using the Cacycle editor extension. This program is no longer actively maintained in favor of its much more powerful successor wikEd.

wikEd has all the functionality of the old editor plus: • syntax highlighting • nifty image buttons • more fixing buttons • paste formatted text from Word or web pages • convert the formatted text into wikicode • adjust the font size • and much, much more.

Switching to wikEd is easy, check the detailed installation description on its project homepage. Often it is as simple as changing every occurrence of editor.js into wikEd.js on your User:YourUsername/monobook.js page.

Kontribisyon nan pwojè Dikyonè an

edit

Bonjou,

Mwen administratè nan wikipedya ak wikisource ayisyen.

Mwen mande nou sèlman edite chak fwa nou vini, yon ti mo, yon ti pawòl nan wiksyonè a. Mete lyen an nan paj itilizatè ou.

Mwen komanse yon ti fòm pou fasilite edisyon nou yo. Ou mèt gade li nan paj sa a : ht:Itilizatè:Masterches/lis_wiksyonè

Kouman nou ap fè

edit

Ki jan pou nou fè ?

(rezon an se paske anpil pwojè ap devlope epi wt/+kòt lang peyi, lè pwojè a aksepte, tout rasin wt/ht ap bouje nan rasin paj pwojè a, dirèkteman [[bouki]] plito ke [[wt/ht/bouki]] )

  • ou mèt gade paj mwen an pou kèk egzanp epi yon modèl definisyon pou fasilite kontribisyon nou yo nan paj sa a : ht:Itilizatè:Masterches/lis_wiksyonè
  • kite mesaj ak diskisyon nan paj yo, kite mesaj nou si nou genyen kèk pwoblèm ekri mwen nan paj mwen : ht:itilizatè:Masterches
  • ...mèsi ankò ! Ede mwen kreye wiksyonè sa a, nou kapab fè li ! Nou kapab devlope li !

Pou tout kesyon, mande mwen san kraze tèt ou.

Contribution in the devloppment of the haitian creole wiktionary

Hi,

I'm admin in Haitian creole wikipedia and wikisource. I'm continuing the devlopment of the future haitian creole wiktionary. I'd like it to be a place where all questions of vocabulary could be solve quickly. Many of us are looking for a correct definition, vocabulary, sentence, or a large source of information concerning a word but remain disappointed due to lack of this information.

I'd like to invite you to contribute to the devlopment of this project. It's currently under aproval because we need contributors for editing the beta version (at http://incubator.wikimedia.org/wiki/wt/ht ). The discussions with the admins are at http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wiktionary_Haitian_Creole.

your first contribution could be very short, that's not a problem (for instance "Frans se yon peyi" will be sufficient for the first definition for France)

How to do it ?

thank you for your contribution.

You can contact me if any problems at : MasterChes

You said: Just thought I'd drop you a line that I undid your recent correction. I think the original time series formulation was correct and I added a reference supporting it. The original way also conforms better with the preceding equation. Do you want to add an additional formulation? --Bequw (talk) 05:07, 29 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

OK I see what this was meant to be doing. I am somewhat more familiar with a notation used in Kalman filters and the change I made corresponded to the definition for E stated in the article ... however this definition was wrong as the "information" was not being marginalised over (as implied by "with respect to") but conditioned on. I have now changed the wording to something that I hope is both clearer and correct, leaving the equation as you left it. Melcombe (talk) 09:06, 29 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Regression kink

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Regression kink requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you.  Kiefer.Wolfowitz 15:15, 14 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Regression kink

edit

Hi Bequw!

I don't think Regression kink should be a redirect to Regression discontinuity studies.

I have 10+ books on my shelves dealing with kinky regression, probably more like 20. "Kinkometrics" is well established as a seminar phrase in econometrics, but hadn't been used yet, the last time I checked.

Cheers,  Kiefer.Wolfowitz 15:38, 14 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi Kiefer. It appears (from this, this, and your mention of "books" above) that you are thinking of a different concept. RD/RK designs (the "kinks" I'm referring to) don't deal with simple breakpoints in regressions where the response of Y to a variable X changes across regimes. It deals with breaks in how X responds to an underlying variable Z and how this can be used to estimate quasi-causal impacts of X on Y (the regression of study). In this sense it is very similar to Instrumental variable methods. Segmented regression (or one-step Nonlinear regressions) is therefore quite different than RD/RK. I think RK should then have a separate, stub page where my original content at RDD can go, and so as to clear up any confusion with concepts you were mentioning. If you are still unsure, read the working papers I cited originally at the RDD page. Cheers. --Bequw (talk) 16:15, 14 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
The title "regression kink" should not be used for that paper, when there is a huge literature on kinkometrics. Segmented regression isn't a great article but it seems to be the best we have on the general topic. Please add a bit about your topic to that article, for example.  Kiefer.Wolfowitz 16:24, 14 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
Your original instinct to develop an article on "regression kink design" seems promising.  Kiefer.Wolfowitz 16:25, 14 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
OK. I've reinstated my content at RDD and put a link from Segmented regression to RDD in the See also section. Any expansion is welcome. --Bequw (talk) 16:39, 14 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
