Welcome!

edit

Hello, BenpaiDP, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Drunken Peasants, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! —C.Fred (talk) 01:50, 7 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Username concerns

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "BenpaiDP", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it overlaps the name of an individual covered in an article. Unless you contact the Volunteer Response Team via email to confirm your identity, we will need to block your account as a protective measure to prevent possible impersonation. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing this form, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 01:31, 7 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

I can confirm my identity. Who should I email? I created this account because my personal info was being released on wikipedia.
Follow the link to WP:Volunteer Response Team for instructions or WP:Contact us for the address. —C.Fred (talk) 01:51, 7 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
I will do that now. Is there a way to lock https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drunken_Peasants in the mean time until I can clear this up? People are using wikipedia to leak my personal info.
(edit conflict) Also, please note that certain revisions of the article have been deleted because of violations of our policies related to biographies of living persons. For personal information to appear in an article, it needs to be relevant to the article and backed up by a reliable source. The information in question passed the first test but failed the second, so I've erred on the side of caution and hidden those edits. —C.Fred (talk) 01:57, 7 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
I'm monitoring the page, but since it appears that only one IP added the information, I don't think protection is justified at this time. —C.Fred (talk) 02:00, 7 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
I have email the response team asking what info they need from me. Our IMDB http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4823212/ Shows that I go my the name Ben Ghazi. —BenpaiDP
As noted at Talk:Drunken Peasants, IMDB is not a reliable source for biographical information. Has any press coverage of DP used that name? —C.Fred (talk) 02:13, 7 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
Not that I'm aware of. Only my first name has been used in articles that I'm aware of
Then per Wikipedia's policies on verifiability, only the first name may be used in the article. —C.Fred (talk) 02:26, 7 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
