Proposed deletion of World of Books Ltd edit

The article World of Books Ltd has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This article was created by a new User with only one purpose - to create this article. After a month the article has been abandoned. Its subject is one of the world's thousands of small businesses trading in second-hand books. The subject lacks notability. The content of the article is largely unsourced.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Dolphin (t) 12:28, 10 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hello Ben. I see you removed the notification of my proposal to delete World of Books Ltd, as you are entitled to do. One of the reasons for proposing deletion of an article is that it may galvanise interested Users into developing the article to raise it to the quality Wikipedia requires.
I see that you created your Wikipedia account solely for the purpose of creating a new article about World of Books Ltd. That is the only article to which you have contributed. This looks like you have some personal or commercial involvement with World of Books and want to see it promoted on Wikipedia. If that is true, it would be a conflict of interest. Wikipedia discourages conflicts of interest - please see WP:CONFLICT.
Wikipedia articles about companies and organisations should not be a form of advertising, and should not promote a company or organisation with the objective of securing its commercial success. Wikipedia is not a retail catalogue. The subject of every article must be sufficiently notable in its own right to warrant an article on Wikipedia. Many companies and organisations are not sufficiently notable. An article about World of Books Ltd must demonstrate that this company is truly notable. Please see WP:CORP.
It is not sufficient for an article on World of Books to give a brief description of its business plan. It is necessary that it be a comprehensive article about the subject, and to demonstrate why the company is notable. All statements that are likely to be challenged should be supported by references or in-line citations to allow independent verification. For information on how to write a truly great article please see WP:DEV. Dolphin (t) 12:27, 14 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Phearson (talk) 01:49, 3 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
