You were quite right and I apologise. I wasn't sure and I should have checked with someone who knew. --Spellmaster 23:18, 11 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

User page

edit

It would be good if you said a little (not too much) about yourself on your user page. It is not a home page, but it is a little information for the wiki. Snowman 18:12, 1 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

I don't know, it seems a little frivolous. Maybe when I have something meaningful to put there. For now, I'd rather be judged by my contributions than my witty use of userboxes. - Ben Ram 18:31, 1 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image:Space bodies which may host life.svg, you'll notice that Europe rather than Europa is orbiting Jupiter. Eek. But thanks very much for helping out with the image. If you could just tweak that and re-upload it would be great. Marskell 19:42, 2 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm afraid the description is incorrect - I didn't upload that image. I DID upload Image:Gliese 581 c in the habitable zone.svg, which that image is based on, so presumably the actual uploader (Commons:User:Yug) misunderstood the "author" field. - Ben Ram 04:43, 3 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Pardis Sabeti

edit

A tag has been placed on Pardis Sabeti, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD A7.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Noah 21:52, 12 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Pardis Sabeti

edit

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Pardis Sabeti, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. AfD nomination of Pardis Sabeti

edit

An editor has nominated Pardis Sabeti, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Pardis Sabeti and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 19:59, 29 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Your Spaceflight Manual

edit

The article Your Spaceflight Manual has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non notable book.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Orphaned non-free image File:Your Spaceflight Manual cover.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Your Spaceflight Manual cover.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 00:34, 6 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
