Beaconsfield Town F.C. edit

Hello Chris. Thanks for your contribution to Wikipedia, but please note our WP:Conflict of Interest guidelines. You'll see that you editing the club article is strongly discouraged, but you can request updates on its talk page using {{request edit}}. Regarding your comment in the edit summary about the club kit, I have restored what the bot reverted – is this the right colours? Happy to help with any questions you have. Cheers, Number 57 12:59, 20 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Please be aware that if you continue to edit the article, you will be blocked for violating WP:COI. As I said, if you have any requested edits, please raise them on the article's talk page, Talk:Beaconsfield Town F.C. Thanks, Number 57 14:38, 20 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the response, and posting it on my page is fine – replies can be done either on the same page or on the other user's page. No worries about the lack of experience – we all had to start at some point! However, I'm afraid you can't change the article name to "Beaconsfield Town FC" as we have a naming convention for English football clubs that involves using the dots (e.g. Arsenal F.C. or Manchester United F.C.). Perhaps you could take over that version of the Facebook page though?
As per my previous advice, due to your involvement with the club you are strongly advised not to continue editing the article itself, even if you change your account name. However, you can request updated on the article's talk page. You can rename the account whatever you like, but a name after an organisation (or the committee) is not acceptable. To rename your account, go here. Cheers, Number 57 19:37, 20 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
Also, if I can chip in here, I note that you commented on 57's talk page "I want to be able to update the page as we have new news". Please bear in mind that the article on any football club is designed to give a broad outline/overview of their entire history, not provide the latest news. If the news consists of winning the league, that's worth including. A change of manager probably merits including. Day-to-day stuff like signing a new player isn't appropriate. Hope this helps -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 07:24, 21 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
