Andy Murray edit

Just so you know, in sports biographies when it says "country", it means the place they compete for in International Sporting events, not the country where they were born/live/have nationality. Therefore, as he competes under the Great Britain flag, and competes for Great Britain at the Davis Cup and Olympics, his country is Great Britain. It's a common source of confusion amongst sport biographies. Joseph2302 (talk) 12:44, 6 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for clearing that up for me, I trust that otherwise under different circumstances that Great Britain is not to be viewed as a country. Bandau Spallet (talk) 13:52, 6 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Yes, as you'll notice his place of birth uses Scotland and United Kingdom, as the United Kingdom is an actual country, and Great Britain isn't. Joseph2302 (talk) 12:58, 6 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Articles under intense scrutiny because of User:Matthew hk edit

Alberto Paloschi - this article is currently using the 'mdy' dating system, whereas other articles on Italian footballers / Serie A players on the English Language Wikipedia are using the appropriate and widely accepted 'dmy' dates for the English speaking territories. Having further inspected the article; I noticed that a "Use dmy dates" tag has been placed at the top of the article, despite no request being fulfilled.

Mattia Cassani - observe article data from 23 May 2015, edited by Matthew hk (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Mattia_Cassani&oldid=668117107)

Fabrizio Cacciatore

Problem users: Matthew hk edit

User description of the above individual: the editor standing accused is an autopatrolled, pending changes reviewer. Bandau Spallet (talk) 11:37, 5 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Frankly whoever granted hk pending changes reviewer privileges should hold their head in shame as it would appear that the user in question has a complete disregard for respect, authority and above all responsibility. Bandau Spallet (talk) 11:18, 5 July 2015 (UTC) Regardless of any 2017 contract expiration, having visited Sampdoria's official website I have discovered that the player is no longer listed as part of their squad. Bandau Spallet (talk) 23:45, 7 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

He had a season-long injury. Matthew_hk tc 13:04, 11 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Cuco Martina edit

Hello GiantSnowman, I was just wondering what was wrong with adding that Derwin has played alongside his brother for Curaçao? Is it because little did I know that Derwin already exists on Wikipedia and the fact I didn't bracket Derwin and Javier because as the information was missing / had not been added until today, made me naturally assume that there were no existing articles about them on here? As for removing "professionally" the only reason I did this was because it is rarely used on footballer biographical articles on Wikipedia. Finally, did you remove the FIFA link because there was already an existing link to the same information? I might have included too much and for that I am sorry. Bandau Spallet (talk) 18:57, 8 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

I will respond after the SPI has been resolved, if that's OK. GiantSnowman 17:59, 8 July 2015 (UTC) Sure. That's fine. Oh I would like to know if I am using this top talk thing correctly, as I noticed that my talk wasn't highlighted and discovered top talk but I am not sure whether that's for pending changes users or autopatrolled or any kind of administrator as I believe there are even more users types than I had originally thought. Bandau Spallet (talk) How do you go about joining the Wikipedia Community and the Tea Room? Can't say I know much about it but having received the invite I thought I better ask. @Bbb23: Time to revoke Talk page editing? JMHamo (talk) 22:43, 8 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
@JMHamo: No, it's a bit premature. BTW, your revert was improper. The user is entitled to remove the block notice. I reverted because of the personal attack against another editor.--Bbb23 (talk) 22:46, 8 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
Fair enough, it won't happen again. Thanks, JMHamo (talk) 22:48, 8 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
