Reverted edit? edit

I was adding a slash as an appropriate escape character in the POSIX section of regular expressions and was reverted immediately.

I won't lie to you, I only see whatever came up at the time and given my knowledge of regex is patchy at best I did assume it to be vandalism. Sorry and consider it reverted. treelo radda 23:18, 5 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Chuck Wright edit

Hello Tillo, Someone keeps changing my page by adding a photo of an old man or something else..changing my occupation to "has been" etc. I had a friend that knows code and has put the correct photo back but whoever this person is is constantly messing with my page. The IP you see here is me Chuck Wright. This Wikipedia free for all editing system you have is very frustrating to the people being written about. I reported the IP addess of this individual already. Thanks. Chuck76.166.238.50 (talk) 23:02, 5 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

OK, I'll see what I can do about the vandalism when it pops up, seems I already need to fix it up so I'll deal with that also. treelo radda 23:18, 5 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
Right, beat it to it by your friend but if this someone keeps at it, someone will step in and issue a block so it's not as if there's nothing anyone can do to prevent it, especially not to a bio. treelo radda 23:23, 5 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Many Thanks... edit

...for reverting vandalism on my user page. Nice to know someone has my back! Jusdafax 00:13, 6 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

User talk:118.208.150.190 edit

Please be a bit more careful when using Huggle as this was in no way vandalism. Thanks. --NeilN talkcontribs 00:28, 6 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

I did recognise it shortly afterwards but didn't manage to pick out which diff I hit so I could revert it. A slip of the finger, my apologies. treelo radda 08:17, 6 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

With this edit, you reverted a whole series of edits by 75.175.244.191 at List of characters in Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. None of these edits was vandalism. If you went through each of them you would have seen that. Now the poor fellow has had to do it all over again because he didn’t know how to undo your revert. Just because he was an anonymous editor does not mean he was vandalizing. When one anon editor has made a series of edits, it is advisable to carefully review the diffs before reverting. Your revert has had the effect of biting a newbie. All that having been said, thanks for helping with recent changes patrol! — SpikeToronto 03:32, 16 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

P.S. One thing I forgot to mention, and I am sure you already know this, Rollback cannot be used by rollbackers in a content dispute. We, like all other wikieditors, have to use Undo in such instances so that we can provide a clear explanation regarding the undoing of another editor’s contributions. As stated at WP:ROLLBACK, Rollback can only be used for the reverting of obvious vandalism. A fellow Rollbacker recently had his privileges revoked at WP:ANI for using the tool to undo edits that were not clear-cut, blantant, and obvious vandalism. Thanks again! — SpikeToronto 05:07, 16 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sowisapigtobeexact edit

Howdy Treelo. I've left a final warning for our dear friend Sowisapigtobeexact prior to your report at AIV. My intention is to block indefinitely as opposed to the usual "slowly escalating blocks" on the condition that he communicate, but since this is far from a "vandal only account", I need to make the offer first. If you see him edit again in the same pattern (any unsourced random trivia to a BLP), please let me know asap and I will personally follow up. Kuru talk 00:35, 19 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

I know, you were one of the two admins who left final warnings making a total of three warnings in the last week. I'm not that certain you'll get a response if you do make an offer, seems like the sort of editor who edits to their rules oblivious to others. To me, this sort of editing style is equally as bad as being a pure vandal only account, you still have to clean up behind both and the net positive of their edits are vastly outweighed by the net negative. I think I'll be back to you about this, they won't give up unless they're prodded into doing so. treelo radda 08:31, 19 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion declined: List of JumpStart Superheroes episodes edit

Hello Treelo, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I declined the speedy deletion of List of JumpStart Superheroes episodes - a page you tagged - because: Contains sufficient content to be a stub.' Please review the criteria for speedy deletion before tagging further pages. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know. NW' (Talk) 21:57, 21 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

I do, why was what was there, bearing in mind it was supposed to be a list, sufficient? There was literally nothing there but some information regarding the "show" and a table of the seasons. To me, had it not been speedied for another reason altogether by you it simply wouldn't be reason enough to reject it. One person's stub is another's worthless nonsense content dump and whether or not you can get something speedied depends on the whim of the admin who sees it first. treelo radda 00:04, 22 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

AFD Closure edit

Sorry but I have to say I disagree with you non admin closure of an AFD that ignored policy and sited no policy during the closure. No harm would be severed by letting the AFD run it's course. 16:53, 28 October 2009 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ridernyc (talkcontribs)

Well, the fact it was a bad nom and even if it had a backbone it wouldn't have had a different outcome decided it for me, no harm would be done by letting it run maybe but there'd be no point letting it run when it's clearly not going anywhere. If you still believe it to be wrong, you can goto WP:DRV and request my closure be overturned. treelo radda 17:01, 28 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
Going to ANI first, see you there. Ridernyc (talk) 17:08, 28 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
OK, not exactly ANI worthy but go ahead. treelo radda 17:14, 28 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Will do, hope this can be dealt with pretty quickly and amicably. treelo radda 17:26, 28 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
