Please understand that there is nothing in our motto "The encyclopedia anyone can edit" that implies you can put whatever you want in the encyclopedia. There are numerous policies and guidelines for what you can and cannot do. Some of them are outlined above. Content is decided by consensus. If someone removes a new addition you have made, you must never just put it back. Instead, go to the article's talk page and start a discussion and try to gain a consensus for your change. Simply put, I do not think your change will fly, but you are still welcome to try. We ALWAYS include the official census number from the latest "0" year, period. We only source population figures to the US census bureau, period. Their latest estimate is 2016 and you are welcome to also include that, if you provide a proper source (ie, the census bureau, not a google search), however, that number is already in the article. Pretty much, we have no interest in what the city has to say about itself. All information (with the exception of the most mundane and indisputable info) must come from reliable secondary sources, not from the city government. This article is not the property of, nor is it for the benefit of the city. If you wish to discuss growth, find reliable secondary sources that discuss it, and add it into the demographics section. The 2010 census results should also be included there, but the community consensus is we add those without removing the 2000 census results. Thanks. John from Idegon Thank you for the information provided, I was not aware that we should only use census data/ in "0 years". My apologies, I am new and still figuring things out.

Thomas.W please help me understand. I assumed that since the direct quote I used was sourced to the original page (CZ Website) that it was not plagiarism/a copyright infringement. Going forward, if I did want to post information provided by a website like this, would I just rewrite the info in my own words (paraphrase it)? - You copied text verbatim from a copyrighted website (see http://cz-usa.com/copyright/ where it says that
"All content included on this site, such as text, graphics, logos, button icons, images, audio clips, digital downloads, data compilations, and software, is the property of CZ-USA protected by United States and international copyright laws"
) which is a very big no-no here (see Wikipedia:Copyright violations). And even "close paraphrasing" is against the rules here, so you need to rewrite everything in your own words, and make sure that it's not too close to the original text. - Tom | Thomas.W talk 16:49, 30 August 2017 (UTC)
Thomas.W Great that makes sense, thank you. One more thing, if I were to rewrite something in my own words, should i still source it to the original source/website? Edit warring edit
The last stable version of Dan Huberty is the version of 9th August which you can find here [1]. Please cease your attempt to edit war in selective quotations from a primary source contrary to WP:BLP. May I remind you that according to WP:BLPSOURCE "contentious material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced should be removed immediately and without discussion". Jonathan A Jones You have yet to provide an answer as to why Project VoteSmart is not a credible source. Care to explain? Again, we can bring this to the attention of an admin to determine whether or not the information belongs.
As I have in fact explained repeatedly it's a WP:PRIMARY source, and if you don't understand why that matters then you shouldn't be editing BLPs. And as I have pointed out repeatedly, your insistence on selecting individual ratings from it rather than just using it as an external link is far worse. Jonathan A Jones If infact Project VoteSmart is considered a primary source, then I will yield and will not keep trying to add that information to the page. HOWEVER, since you are not trying to get this information removed for any reason other than objectivity/ violating wiki rules, then you will go ahead and remove the other dozens of pages of politicians that have their ratings given and sourced by Project VoteSmart correct?
It doesn't work like that. When inappropriate information is added to any of the 546 pages on my watchlist - which cover an enormous range of subjects because it is highly unwise to edit solely in a single narrow area - I do something about it. The other (approximately 5,472,000) articles are somebody else's problem. As I have said before, you need to learn more about Wikipedia policies, guidelines, and norms before you make a complete fool of yourself by threatening highly experienced and scrupulously careful editors with spurious claims. You might start by learning how to sign posts on talk pages: the fact that you still haven't learned how to do that will not improve the credibility of any complaints you might choose to make. For someone as experienced as yourself I assumed you would concern yourself with more than just the limited amount of articles on your watch list, however I see that I was incorrect in this assumption.
