Editing, and "adding" photographs

edit

Hi, I see you are wanting to do things on Wikipedia. These do take some practice, and it is best if that is NOT ON LIVE ARTICLES. Please try out editing in your SANDBOX --- there is a button in blue called "sandbox" above on the menu bar, or you can link to User:Azadi6969/sandbox --- you can try inserting an image there and see how it works. Please don't mess about with the real yoga articles until you understand how to edit a bit better.

Secondly, images MUST be free of COPYRIGHT. This is very important - unlicensed images will quickly be deleted, and you will get into a lot of trouble if you use them. Please only add images that you personally made, i.e. you were holding the camera and took the photograph. All other images are likely to be illegal.

To upload images to Commons, go to Wikimedia Commons: Upload Wizard and follow the instructions carefully. It will ask you to confirm that you took the photographs. You must tell the truth there --- any attempt to use other people's photos will quickly be detected.

I do hope this is clear! Help is available, see the messages and links above. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 15:35, 26 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Advertising on Wikipedia

edit

Hi, advertising by adding links to your website on Wikipedia is strictly forbidden. If you keep trying, you will get warnings and then be blocked from editing. Please take care. Chiswick Chap (talk) 15:39, 26 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Aerial yoga. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for adding spam links. Persistent spammers will have their websites blacklisted from Wikipedia and potentially penalized by search engines.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  -- Amanda (aka DQ) 16:29, 27 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
