Medstudentsonline listed for speedy deletion edit

A tag has been placed on Medstudentsonline, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Kyra~(talk) 07:31, 15 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

See our no personal attacks policy edit

Continued personal attacks such as the one you did here won't be tolerated and will end up getting you blocked from editing here. Read the linked policy in this header for more information.--MONGO 08:42, 16 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've blocked this account. It hasn't been used since July 2006, then was used to make a personal attack. SlimVirgin (talk) 08:51, 16 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

unblock|I disagree with this for several reasons. Firstly, you are incorrect that the account has not been used sine July 2006 before this 'personal attack' was made, as a simple look at my contributions page would reveal 22 Actions on just the day before, although you are correct that other than these actions my account was inactive for a long period of time. Secondly, I apologise for the edit in question as I had left my computer running and a friend decided it would be fun to mess around a bit, I took at look at what was posted and as a first offence it doesn't appear to warrant an indefinite ban anyway. Thirdly, I assure you this won't happen again. My bad. Sorry Wikipedia.

Since this hasn't been reviewed yet, I shall go on to quote from the 'No Personal Attacks Policy':

"editors are encouraged to ignore or respond politely to isolated personal attacks ... In extreme cases, even isolated personal attacks may lead to a block for disruption. Legal threats, death threats, and issues of similar severity, in particular, may result in a block without warning. However, administrators are cautioned that other resolutions are preferable to blocking for less severe situations when it is unclear if the 'conduct severely disrupts the project'."

In what way was a single post "You suck" an extreme case? Does that involve a legal threat? A death threat? Anything of similar severity? I think not. PLEASE JUSTIFY YOUR CASE FOR A PERMANENT BLOCK IT IS TOTALLY UNNECCESSARY. STOP ABUSING YOUR POWER.

Could you explain, please, why your friend wanted to attack that particular editor?
Note: I'd appreciate if any admin looking at this would e-mail me before unblocking. Cheers, SlimVirgin (talk) 10:28, 16 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Sorry but I don't know for sure.. I assume said admin blocked him or changed something he didn't like. I can't remember if he has his own account or not but I think he does. Just wondering also, why would this justify a permanent ban anyway? Seems quite OTT. -Axxaer 10:35, 16 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Could you ask your friend why he attacked that particular editor, please, and also let us know what your friend's account is? Many thanks, SlimVirgin (talk) 10:38, 16 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
I will try and find out, but first can you please answer the question i will now have asked 3 times, HOW. DOES. THIS. OFFENCE. JUSTIFY. A. PERMANENT. BAN??? Thank you, Axxaer 10:40, 16 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Yes? No? Answer my question? Axxaer 10:58, 16 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Still waiting mate. Any other admins want to deal with this already? Axxaer 11:13, 16 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ok. Whatever. I'm going to bed, can any admin please just sort this out in the next 24 hours, it's not that difficult. You all know this doesn't deserve a permanent block. Thanks -Axxaer 12:11, 16 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Hmm... so SlimVirgin you're online and making reverts, yet you can't just unblock me or at least reduce it to the appropriate ban length of 24 hours from when the offence was committed? For shame. -Axxaer 14:59, 16 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
I can see from your user page that you, SlimVirgin, are industrious in your efforts to block vandals, especially of others' user pages. I commend you for that. However, based on what I have read here, Axxaer's punishment seems to far outweigh the crime, whether Axxaer committed it or not. Also the 'no personal attacks' page does back up his statements that a block, let alone a permanent one, is not part of wikipedia's general policy action. I hope you will realise that Axxaer is a committed Wikipedian - but also a human being who appears to have made a mistake in this case.
-Scratchdawg 15:51, 16 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
SlimVirgin asked a question that you haven't answered - why did your friend attack that editor in particular? I think that's a reasonable question. You are asking to be unblocked based on your statement that you did not make the attack. If you didn't, who did? --BigDT 15:55, 16 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ok well I don't see how it's fair that I must answer these questions when she won't answer my one simple question. (REPEAT IV: How can you justify permanently banning me without warning for this one offence?) But, I am in good spirits and shall submit. My friend who commited that act is called Will Wallace and his account is [wgwallace]. I have no idea why he made such an attack, we were all drunk and I think he might have been a little high. I sincerely apologise and now understand the dangers of leaving my computer on with such reckless "friends" hanging around. Please give me another chance. WWJD. -Axxaer 16:19, 16 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
(Unindenting) Ok ... why did your friend attack that editor in particular? I graduated from college ... people did stupid stuff while drunk ... but your friend has had no interaction with this person that I can see. What made him choose to make that particular personal attack? --BigDT 20:21, 16 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
As I said before, I have no idea. -Axxaer 23:29, 16 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
I don't understand why Axxaer hasn't been unblocked yet. This "particular personal attack" is on the least offensive and provocative level that an attack could be. The blocking of Axxaer is clearly against wikipedia policy no matter who or why or under what circumstances the attack was made. Additionally, people may insult people in 'real life' situations, such as a pub, for no logical reason - just as in this cyber situation. -Scratchdawg 02:44, 17 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Axxaer, in the interests of clearing up all outstanding issues, could you also say which other accounts you've edited, or continue to edit, Wikipedia with? SlimVirgin (talk) 03:30, 17 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
What outstanding issues are you talking about? This is the only account I have ever used to edit wikipedia with. I am in a boarding college with wireless internet which is shared with others. And as you well know I can't continue to edit Wikipedia with my account because you have unfairly permanently blocked me without warning for one ridiculously minor offence. Please explain. -Axxaer 03:46, 17 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Do you know which other accounts edit from the same boarding college as you? SlimVirgin (talk) 04:14, 17 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
No. Surely you are aware of the impossibility of knowing the accounts which may be owned by as many as 121 other people. I don't see how this is relevant anyway, the crux of the matter is that my offence doesn't deserve a permanent ban without warning. What else can I say? -Axxaer 05:37, 17 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Axxaer, I've unblocked you, but please note that any further personal attacks or disruption of any kind will see the block returned. If you stick to constructive editing, you'll have no problem. SlimVirgin (talk) 16:34, 17 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
You're a fucking douchebag with no life. -Axxaer 20:33, 17 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
I concur with SlimVirgin's decision and echo her suggestion that you tread lightly for awhile. Since it doesn't look like anyone has ever formally welcomed you, please take a look at the welcome message that I have pasted below. It has a lot of helpful links that will help you grow as an editor. Happy editing! --BigDT 16:50, 17 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source for Image:Mso.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Mso.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:19, 27 March 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fritz S. (Talk) 19:19, 27 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned fair use image (Image:10tons logo.gif) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:10tons logo.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 07:22, 12 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Articles for deletion nomination of 10tons Entertainment edit

I have nominated 10tons Entertainment, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/10tons Entertainment. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

About the capitalization of heroin edit

Hi Axxaer, 'Heroin' could be a Bayer trademark in some countries, but according to every dictionary I can find (wikt, Oxford, M-W, Cambridge), like aspirin, the generic noun is not capitalized. – Acdx (talk) 04:29, 3 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I haven't tried it, I just vectorized the diagram. About the codeine columns, I don't really have an opinion in either direction about that, but morphine should definitely be the main standard. The reason the codeine columns are there is because the article started essentially as a clone of this. – Acdx (talk) 05:28, 5 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Proposed deletion of File:Msoscr1.jpg edit

Notice

The file File:Msoscr1.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 11 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
