Re: Statements edit

On 30 March, 2007, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Rudolf Christoph Freiherr von Gersdorff, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

Re: Pic Rudolf Christoph Freiherr von Gersdorff edit

Dear Howcheng, For further verification of copyrights, weather existing or not, I wrote the following letter to the Memorial to the German Resistance [1]:

As soon as I receive any reply I shall inform you. Best regards --Dionysos 09:02, 1 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

As per our Manual of Style, "Avoid putting links in the boldfaced titles and synonyms." That is why I added the footnote reference. Cheers, Olessi 23:52, 3 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re:Red Army atrocities (WWII) edit

Thank you for your king words, and welcome to the project! First, Red Army atrocities (WWII), while encyclopedic topic, will (if it hasn't so far) prove to be highly controversial. You will find that there are active users who both deny or try to overemphasize such issues; don't let them convince you Wikipedia is an unfriendly place - just bear in mind extreme topics evoke extreme responses. I strongly suggest merging your article into existing Red Army atrocities; at the talk of that page I posted several links to Red Army crimes for 1919-1921, 1939-1941 and 1944-1989 periods. See also similar articles, ex. War crimes of the Wehrmacht and Category:Soviet World War II crimes for structure.-- Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus | talk  19:56, 3 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Let’s do it after this article has been finished! --Dionysos 20:08, 3 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
I agree that, in all fairness, it would be best to let Dionysosfinish his first (and maybe even second) draft before ripping things apart. Since Dionysos has said he is not a native English writer, the first thing I would do would be to read the translation for inference from his native language; one that pass has been taken care of, then check for POV expressions and adjust for neutrality (which I think means avoiding one-side and judgmental language, not avoiding calling a spade a spade). HTH, Jim_Lockhart 04:31, 4 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Dear Piotrus, Please, stop making any changes to any article without prior discussion. The same goes for adding or removing templates. Whenever a template states: {{ under work }}, you can not just remove the template and afterwards claim: There were “ugly empty sections”. If you can not contribute to the article with facts, just leave it to those who can. --Dionysos 17:42, 5 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

2 sources edit

I have got 2 .pdf files which I thin could be helpful for Soviet War Crimes.

The first one is original Soviet Order complaining about the behaviour of the soviet troops. It's in russia but there's a german translation. If you want to, I can translate into english. It says e.g.: "weapons were used against women and old people. Furthermore there were many killings of german POWs"

The second file consist of many tapped soviet radio messages. it's in german The Messages are like: A: "I made 35 POWs. They are shot"

B: "Did you shot all of em?"

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Proposed deletion of File:Isis with hidden parts.JPG edit

The file File:Isis with hidden parts.JPG has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused personal file. Out of scope.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 12:34, 27 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Tassen-druck-Siegel.JPG edit

Thanks for uploading File:Tassen-druck-Siegel.JPG. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. Here is a list of your uploads. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 14:14, 31 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
