@Insertcleverphrasehere: I've added another reference to the article. First time using reply to, so here's to seeing if I've done it right. Auguststorm1945 (talk) 20:14, 29 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

In the future, please add attribution when copying from public domain sources: simply add the template {{PD-notice}} after your citation. I have done so for the above article. Please do this in the future so that our readers will be aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself, and that it's okay to copy verbatim. Thanks, — Diannaa (talk) 13:40, 7 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Diannaa: Okay. I had thought that use of the Template:DANFS indicated as such, but thank you for clarifying. Auguststorm1945 (talk) 20:36, 7 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Oh hey, I missed the template. Maybe you should place it in the "References" section in the future. Sorry for the mistake. — Diannaa (talk) 20:38, 7 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

HMHS hospital ships

edit

What source are you using to add HMHS to the List of Royal Navy ship names? They do not appear in Colledge, J. J.; Warlow, Ben (2006) [1969]. Ships of the Royal Navy: The Complete Record of all Fighting Ships of the Royal Navy (Rev. ed.). London: Chatham Publishing. ISBN 978-1-86176-281-8. nor in any other source I have looked at as commissioned ships of the Royal Navy. Lyndaship (talk) 09:19, 22 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Lyndaship: I was going off of Wikipedia's own List of hospitals and hospital ships of the Royal Navy. Auguststorm1945 (talk) 18:27, 22 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

I won't make further additions using the aforesaid article until further discussion. I meant to say as much in my previous message. Auguststorm1945 (talk) 20:02, 22 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
The more I look at this the more problems I find. I am even dubious that the majority of ships were ever designated HMHS but rather retained their civil prefix or used HMT. I will start a thread on List of hospitals and hospital ships of the Royal Navy to see if anyone can resolve. On another point I see you have been changing some links on the names page to point to individual ships, this is introducing errors as occasionally there has been more than one ship by that name but a ship index page has not been created eg Romula, Rowena and Reading Lyndaship (talk) 07:43, 23 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Lyndaship: Alright. Good to know. Auguststorm1945 (talk) 02:11, 24 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
