February 2012 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Frankie Edgar do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you.
Please see this discussion about "Top10MMARankings.com" as linkspam.

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Top10mmaRankings.com with this edit. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. mmovchin Talk 19:34, 24 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Top10mmaRankings.com edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Top10mmaRankings.com requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Winner 42 Talk to me! 19:34, 24 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Notes edit

Please read WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. The existence of any page here is no guarantee for the continuance of any other page. Fair or unfair? If this were a directory, it would be unfair. However, Wikipedia is not a directory. It is an encyclopaedia. We are not here to publicise new things and help them succeed. We record them when they are no longer new or up and coming, but are arrived (and in many cases, past it again...). When this website Top10mmaRankings.com is well established, and references complying with WP:RS are available, then you are welcome to try again. I would suggest in that case putting the draft in your userspace at User:AtlasSDS/draft (foe example), and then asking for advice from a regular editor or admin. Most of us are willing to help someone who asks for help. (We are less inclined when someone tells us how things should be run here...) If you decide that you don't like the rules here, there are other places where you can put your information without the problem of referencing. Please note that I have no connection with MMA (or any other sporting activity) in any form, and am completely neutral towards it. If you disagree with my deletion of the article, you are entitled to take it to WP:DRV for discussion by members of the community. One final thought - if you have any connection with SEO, I would advise you that Wikipedia is not for promotion. A lot of people do try to get promotional material on here. On the other hand, if you are connected with the site itself, I would advise reading WP:COI. Just giving advice in case it fits the situation. If it doesn't, please ignore it.
