Note about variants of English

edit

Hi Ashleymcvickermsu, just wanted to let you know that I removed your edit to Angel cake. While your edit summary indicated your belief that you were fixing misspellings, the words you "fixed" were not misspelled, they were British English. As we are on the English Wikipedia, any kind of English is accepted, not just "American English". Generally, whatever style is first established in an article is the one that should be retained (MOS:RETAIN). Things with strong regional ties are typically written about in that variant of English (the article for Australia is written in Australian English, the article for Elizabeth II is written in British English). As far as measurements go, SI (the metric system) is preferred, but you can get both to display using the "convert" template. In edit mode, click insert, then "template" from the dropdown, then type in "convert". Example: I walked {{convert | 50 | mi | km}} displays as I walked 50 miles (80 km). Let me know if you have questions. Elysia (Wiki Ed) (talk) 19:29, 2 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
