Hello, AshleyONeill, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Your page move

edit

Hi, you recently moved a page to the title AshleyONeill/Haloarchaea; and there are a few problems with this. First, there is already such an article on Wikipedia, it can be found at Haloarchaea. If you want to improve that article, you should work on that instead of wasting edits on a new draft. Second, the name of the page was inappropriate under our policy on Article titles. You left your username in the title, and simply moved it to the mainspace. Third, your article was not properly "wikified" this is our term for the layout of the article. You should see our page titled WP:LAYOUT. Articles should generally have a lead section to introduce the topic before the main content of the article.

If you work on another draft, might I reccomend going through the Articles for Creation process? This makes it incredibly easy for another editor to be able to review your work before we publish it, and reduce errors like this one. To do so, simply open your completed draft in the source editor, and type: {{subst:submit}} Happy Editing--IAmChaos 14:30, 24 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
