"Port Revel" edit

A tag has been placed on "Port Revel", requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Corvus cornix 23:27, 11 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

"Port Revel" edit

Hello; I thank you for you comments. Since I am the author of both the Wikipedia page and the web site www.portrevel.com I grant the copyright. Therefore I added the copyright notice at the top of "Port Revel". I am not sure about the syntax. Sorry. I worked on that page in order to improve. For this reason both my other pages "Manned model (Port Revel)" and "Similitude of manned models" may now be deleted. I hope this is ok. Thanks for your patience as I am a newcomer on Wikipedia and I struggle with the regulations. regards. 213.244.3.18 17:52, 12 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please read WP:CP#Copyright_owners_who_submitted_their_own_work_to_Wikipedia on how to make sure that Wikipedia can determine that you are in reality the copyright holder. Corvus cornix 18:12, 13 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

I sent an e-meil to permissions-en@ikimedia.org and received an answer: Ticket#007101210007046. I copied the license GFDL on my page. Is this sufficient? Should I do anything more ? Please be specific on what is exactly requested.

Where did you put the license? Corvus cornix 20:27, 14 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Here it is again (I was on my Port Revel page, but was removed by somebody) Please do me a favour and insert it wherever it should be, and tell me so I learn something !!

OK, thanks. Then I would suggest re-adding the information, and include the link to that license on the article's Talk page. Corvus cornix 20:33, 17 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image copyright problem with Image:Accoffshore.jpg edit

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Accoffshore.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 14:29, 26 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:Accroundhead.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Accroundhead.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 15:05, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

External links edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. [1] MrOllie (talk) 19:07, 28 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Dear user you have been adding the link ancientportsantiques.com to a fair number of articles. It appears that you have a conflict of interest in placing this link on both french and english wikipedia. I would like to point you to the guidelines on external links on fr:Wikipédia:Liens externes and en:Wikipedia:External links. If suggest you discuss the placement of this link before adding it to wikipedia again. If you continue to place the link it might be seen as spamming and the link could be blacklisted. I am not saying the site is not useful or relevant, I am just asking you to consider placing the link carefully in order to avoid the suggestion of spam on wikipedia. Thank you. EdBever (talk) 19:31, 28 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
Please believe me that I hate spam and I would hate to be accused of spamming. So I am ready to listen to your advice and I read Wikipedia's guidelines. However, please check the link I wish to introduce by yourself: www.ancientportsantiques.com is a highly specialized site about ancient ports and I wish to link to it at least on the French site "Liste des ports antiques" which I have been working on for several years! I spent 2000 hours on a new list that covers more than 50 A4 pages and is therfore too large to put on Wikipedia. It is however the most comprehensive list available today. As I also wish to make this information know to en.Wikipedia, and as I could not find an "ancient ports" page, I thought it would be wise to add the link on the pages concerned with Mediterranean Sea, Red Sea, and ancient Greece, ancient Rome. I did not expect that around 6 links scattered on en.wikipedia and fr.wikipedia would sound like spamming! But ok you decide! Once again have a look at this web site: it is really factual and not selling anything. It is just a lot of information given away for free. Questions: do you accept the link on Liste des ports antiques? On which English page do you suggest I put the link? Met vr gr. Arteve

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Hjulström curve may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Disambiguation link notification for April 7 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Incense Route, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Gaza. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Proposed deletion of File:Captview.jpg edit

The file File:Captview.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:02, 7 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
