Your RfA edit

I don't have very high standards for adminship, but I think that at a bare mininum, a user should have been on the project for 4 months and have had 1000-1500 edits. The purpose of this is twofold- 1) to ensure that the candidate has sufficent experience with wikipedia and the community and conventions within it. 2) to make sure that the user is a responsible editor who doesn't break the rules. I see no evidence that you have broken the rules (vandalism, 3 revert, bad behavior), but the short time you have been on the project just isn't enought to see what kind of an editor you are. Many have higher standards than mine, for instance I have recently been rejected for adminship despite 6 months time and over 3,000 edits (Rogerd's RFA), even though I have made many good edits and have never broken the rules.

Why don't you just participate, and learn about wikipedia for a few more months. Edit content, and contribute in areas you are interested and have knowledge. Also, you could participate in WP:AfD, WP:RfA, WP:RA and other areas of the project. Good luck --Rogerd 04:35, 17 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Awesome edit

Just thought I'd throw it out there. I have been crusing the recent changes pages, looking for vandals, and you've beat me to the punch at least four times now. Your awesome, If I had the power I would appoint you supreme beat cop, crackin the heads of vandals left and right. Well that's it. See you around. --Mr. Dude †@£КÇøת†яĭβü†ĬŎИ 03:14, 23 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the compliment :) now, if I could just get some admin's to start banning these IPs (which are previous offendors) --AppleBoy [[User talk:Appleboy|Talk]] 03:16, 23 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletes edit

Hi Appleboy! I notice you're using {{d}} when marking things for Speedy Delete. This tag is depreciated. Would you consider helping the Admins who will eventually delete the page by using one of the descriptive tags instead? The main ones are:

  • {{nonsense}} for patent nonsense
  • {{db-empty}} for articles with little or no content or no context
  • {{nn-bio}} for articles about real people where no notability is asserted
  • {{db-attack}} for articles that exist purely to attack the subject of the article
  • {{deleteagain}} for articles previously deleted and recreated
  • {{deletebecause|reason}} where you fill in your own reason, provided it meets one of the Speedy Delete criteria.

Also, remember to warn the user who created the article on his/her talk page - this gives newbies the chance to put things right if the edit wasn't meant as vandalism.

Thanks very much for your time! If you've got any questions or need any advice, drop me a line on my talk page and I'll be happy to help. ➨ REDVERS 16:51, 25 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the info, it is in my .js script so I'll go fix that, if I can find where it is. --AppleBoy 16:54, 25 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

kind of a pre-emptive thing edit

every once in a while when reverting vandalism, I find after watching that it may not actually be vandalism, or something. anyway, for anybody who comes here about that, sorry (I think that's happened 3 times now?) --AppleBoy[[User talk:Appleboy | Talk]] 17:04, 25 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Church of Christ Link Policy edit

Hi! I'd like to point editors to the Church of Christ Talk Page to finalize a policy on links. Would you mind weighing in on the current language and editing, or giving a yeah or nay vote? Thanks! Danlovejoy 20:29, 5 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

benvenuto Tisi (Il Garofalo) edit

I am new to this Wikipeding, but I have decided out of my own interests to use it as a way of keeping track of reviews that I make of Italian Art, focusing mostly on second tier artists.

I recently redid the article on Il Garofalo, basing my findings on both internet sources and SJ Freedberg's monograph on Italian Art, since like many such articles from either the 1911 encyclopedia or the Catholic encyclopedia, it contains much vacuous and often gossip-full nonsense.

I was just curious as to why you and others keep reverting it back, is this a reflexive response? You can respond in the talk section for this article.

Carravagisti

I am trying to stay neutral in reviews, while trying to stay "bold". In fact, I find the 1911 Britannica has this patronizing, often moralizing, "Ruskinesque" approach to art. Thanks for the warning on the large changes. I will try to highlight this in the future.

Reverting edit

Hi Kyle; thanks for your help in fighting vandalism on Wikipedia. May I ask what you're using to perform the reverts? I ask because it seems to have converted escpaded HTML entities (see [1], where HTML tags and escape sequences appear). Thanks! — Knowledge Seeker 05:37, 1 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Inappropriate ban edit

To ban me from #wikipedia because I was having a mature discussion about Freudian thought is not very civilized. I never once used any rude language, I never once made a personal attack, and I proceeded with the conversation in a mature fashion. I understand now that his ideas about sexual attraction offend you, but to ban me with the message "and I am attracted to your sister" doesn't say much about your conduct as an admin. Now you have choosen to ignore me. I would like a response from you shortly, before this situation is elevated. Thank you. - R_Lee_E   (talk, contribs) 21:28, 13 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

actually, I left to go eat some ice cream with my sick sister; thanks for caring. I could've cared less about what you said, but I got complaints about people that were offended, looked up and saw you trying to say that someone else was attracted to their sister. as for the ban message, it was the first cheeziest message that popped into my head. Now, if you have a problem with me, take it up with me, dont' start joining the other channels I'm in and going "AppleBoy banned me, do you know where he is?" That normally would have me and other ops leave you banned for a longer period of time except that I ignored requests to keep it there longer because I was in a good mood and you weren't being abusive in your private messages. --Appleboy Talk 23:53, 13 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
