Good to have you editing Wikipedia. Can I encourage you to continue editing, even if I have reverted your grammatical correction? docboat 12:10, 6 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

I don't know if this is the right place to write back, as I'm pretty new, but, no, you can't encourage me to do that if you don't even explain why a simple grammatical error is incorrect. Can you do that before you just decide to revert what I change? Here's my source on the grammar change. What's yours? http://owl.english.purdue.edu/handouts/esl/esliart.html

I don't know that the "an" before "historical" is really an error or a matter of preference. This page suggests that the "an" is correct when the first syllable of the word is not stressed. I often hear people using "an" in this manner. Joyous! | Talk 01:44, 17 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Usernames

edit

Your username is flatly unacceptable. You are free to start over using a new name, or to post a request on WP:Changing usernames for a new one. If you choose that, you must first post {{unblock}} here on your talkpage. DS (talk) 04:01, 5 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sorry man I don't know if this is where to respond since I usually just edit grammar and spelling and small stuff on television episodes etc. I had this username mostly from games and stuff I just did it so I wouldn't forget. I've had this name for like... 2+ years now I think and have been editing steadily for quite some time. Why all of a sudden is it flatly unacceptable?
Oh, it would've been unacceptable if we'd noticed it earlier. You barely edit - less than a dozen edits in two years - so you slipped past the radar. As for why it's unacceptable... we accept usernames that are silly, strange, weird, cryptic, allusive, subtle, or downright incomprehensible. But stuff that's creepy, obscene, disgusting... that, we don't allow. In all honesty, I was surprised to see that your username was not that of a vandal. DS (talk) 15:43, 6 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
Alright sure... guess I need a new alias anyway. You could be a little less curt though : / Okay so I wanted as a new nickname RogerThatt (like Roger that, get it?) but some guy had an account named that. It said he was blocked indefinitely for being a vandal. Is it possible to delete his account so I can have that name? I was never a fan of dropping numbers after names. No offense, of course :)
No, sorry; system doesn't work that way. And I apologize for not having gotten back to you earlier, but I've been busy and hadn't noticed you. You would've gotten a quicker response if you'd posted {{unblock}} here; I strongly recommend you do that once you've picked another name. DS (talk) 13:57, 12 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
