Re:Talk Link edit

Hi Antonio,

You can get to a user talk link for any user by clicking on the Discussion tab at the top of any user page. To go to a user page just type the following in the search box on the left User:ScreenName. Like for coming to your user page I would type User:Antonio Giusti. You can also read about discussions on articles by clicking on the Discussions tab at the top of any article page. Hope that helps.

Feel free to drop a message for any other query. Comments are never an intrusion . Nice to know that you are planning to visit India.

Hi,
In order to write on a page just click on edit this page tab at the top of the page. When starting a new thread on a user talk page you should start it at the bottom of the page. To start a new topic you can use ==New Topic Name==. This would bold out the topic name. Also, its helpful for others if you sign your name using 4 tildes (~~~~). This would create a link to your user page.Gaurav1146 01:21, 10 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Byron edit

Is it really accurate to describe Byron as "Scottish"? His father's family was of the old English aristocracy. His mother was certainly Scottish, and he spent his earliest years there, but he went to school in England, and I've never seen him described as a Scottish writer in the way that, say, Scott is. Would he have called himself a Scot? Is he called a Scot in other reference works? Also, normally we put talk page comments at the bottom. john k 22:11, 14 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Another issue would be whether contemporaries thought of him as Scottish. At any rate, the issue is that I think the idea is that the "British suchandusch" articles are meant to be depopulated and replaced by the specific country. If I had to choose, I think I'd choose "English" for Byron, although obviously he had Scottish connections as well. john k 22:26, 14 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well, that's sufficient to say that he might be called a Scot, and that he considered himself at least partially Scottish. All the same, I think we should be hesitant about saying he was Scottish and not English. I think we could easily put him in both Category:English poets and Category:Scottish poets. john k 22:32, 14 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Just saying thanks for the tip off about the two books of Wordsworth, much appreciated. --ISpyFace 10:03, 18 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Guerrazzi(Italian) edit

You can get the entry on Francesco Domenico Guerrazzi in Italian here: Francesco Domenico Guerrazzi

In general, you can get links for an article in other languages on the bottom of the left navigation menu. By navigation menu I mean the section on the left of the page where you see the Wikipedia logo followed by navigation, search, toolbox, in other languages(only if the article exists in other languages) sections. Happy editing :) Gaurav1146 07:30, 11 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for experimenting with the page Template:Italy-politician-stub on Wikipedia. Your test worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Redirect edit

Hi,

For redirecting Conciliatore to Il Conciliatore you need to create a page by the name Conciliatore and just write the following in that page:

#REDIRECT [[Il Conciliatore]]

You can get more instructions here.

Disambiguation is different from redirect. One uses a redirect when two terms refer to same article (like in your case Conciliatore and Il Conciliatore). A disambiguation is used when the same term may have different meanings in different contexts. For example Atlas might refer to a bone in body or the Atlas in mythology. The Atlas disambiguation page contains the various meanings to which the term might refer to in different contexts. Cheers,Gaurav1146 11:23, 14 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yes, one should not sign when one is editing/creating articles. Its only on the talk pages that one should leave his name. Others can find about who has made edits to an article by going to the history page for that article. You can find the link for article history as a tab on the top of the article page. The history tab lies next to the edit this page tab.
By the way, I removed your signature and added the stub template. Stubs refer to small articles that need attention. Stubs are also categorised. For example, you might want to look at Literature stubs.Gaurav1146 06:35, 16 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Signature edit

Btw, do try signing your posts with a simple four ~'s; it does work automatically, and not doing may have gotten us off on the wrong foot. One of the warning signs of a crank around here is posting without a linked signature; as always, it's sometimes wrong. Septentrionalis 06:41, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
