Helena Paparizou edit

Hi there. I think you might be a little confused. That change was made through this edit in January, made by a user with only a handful edits and likely unfamiliar with Wikipedia's guidelines, specifically MOS:CONTEXTBIO. "Greek-Swedish" has existed for years and aligns with our practices since she not only is a citizen of both countries, but has a career in both as well. I would ask that you kindly revert your edits. Thank you. Grk1011 (talk) 16:13, 6 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi. The latest edit existed for at least six months and many users have edited the page since then which means the majority of them is ok with it - otherwise it would probably have been changed. Furthermore, the guideline you posed states that previous nationalities are not part of the lead. Helena has many years since last active in Sweden so Swedish-born is more than precise and notable. Plus, on the main body the birthplace is referred many times, it is not like it is ommited on purpose or something. AnotherGuyThere (talk) 16:17, 6 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Your recent editing history at Ed Sheeran shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.. See discussion on Talk:Ed Sheeran. You need to adhere to WP:BRD and stop your edit warring or you will be blocked. BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 14:13, 12 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

My change remained for 2 days from the day the other user changed it since you did so you are actually the one edit warring there. AnotherGuyThere (talk) 14:16, 12 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
That... that's not how BRD works. Do you really want to get yourself blocked?! Engage on the article's talk page, and/or self-revert. BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 14:22, 12 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
MOS:BLPLEAD says "Ethnicity, religion, or sexuality should generally not be in the lead unless it is relevant to the subject's notability. Similarly, previous nationalities or the place of birth should not be mentioned in the lead unless relevant to the subject's notability". Considering the fact he has spent little to none time of his life at Nigeria, how can he be considered as notable with regard to the country? AnotherGuyThere (talk) 15:21, 12 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
