Hi! I have some notes on your draft:

• Rather than say that Renteria is a longtime denizen of San Francisco, it's better to write it as "lives in". You want to avoid anything that could be seen as slang or is too informal. Words like "passion" should be avoided as well, since that's a common term used by marketing people to promote a client. It's something that is seen as too informal at best and at worst, inherently non-neutral.
• Make sure that you avoid subjective terms in your article. Phrases like 'well-known' can be subjective to the reader, so they should be avoided.
• Avoid making unsourced claims or original research. For example, the following sentence is unsourced:

He came out as a lesbian in the late 1970's when he was 12 and transitioned from female to male in the late 1990's, one of the very first deaf folks, and perhaps the first Deaf Person of Color, to have done so.

The issue here is that the claim of Renteria being one of the first or the first Deaf people to transition is original research and should only be included if it's explicitly stated in a reliable source. It's possible that there was someone before him or an earlier group who weren't recorded anywhere, which is always possible when it comes to claims of someone being the first to do something. There are other cases of you mentioning him being the first to do something, so these claims need to be sourced with the strongest possible source. You also make the claim that "Virtually every single Deaf LGBTQ organization online prior to 2005 got its start online through DeafVision." This is a major claim and one that needs to be sourced and likely rephrased. The problem here is that while the Internet didn't have quite as many pages online as they do nowadays, it's a pretty tall order to claim that every Deaf LGBT organization online made their websites through DeafVision. Given that there were other webhosts out there, it's entirely possible that someone chose to host their organization's website through other webhosts like Geocities. There's also the use of the phrase "got its start", as this implies that they all started through DeafVision - meaning that the organization themselves were created by DeafVision when it's most likely that the company served as a webhost, created the website for them, or both.

• This needs more sourcing to help back up claims as well as to help show where Renteria is a notable person.

Custom signature fix needed

Hi there! You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. Changes to Wikipedia's software have made your current custom signature invalid.

The problem: Your signature contains a syntax error or obsolete HTML tags.

The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, you can fix your signature, or you can do nothing.

Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:

1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
3. Remove anything in the Signature: text box.
4. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (Do not click the red "Restore all default settings" button, which will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)

Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:

1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
2. Click the Learn more button next to the error to learn how to fix the error.
3. Update your signature to fix the error.
4. Click Save to update to your newly fixed signature.

Solution 3: Do nothing:

1. In accordance with a recent request for comment, all invalid signatures will be changed to the default, which looks like "Example (talk)", one month from now.
