I find that you only did this due to an editing dispute because you are being told by a myriad of editors that you're disruptive. AnimeSouth Deletion Review

While I hate to see anything that could be important deleted, I can't argue with all of Wikipedia. I can, however, create a better article that is not an advertisement. I will do this for you if you provide me with these listed items:

• 2 Newspaper articles directly about the convention. I will want full text, and I'll verify them with EBSCO or any other engine I might have. Trivial mentions will not work. It's gotta be someone saying "I went to AnimeSouth, I saw people Cosplay, it looked fun, or whatever as long as it's in a reliable source."
• Link to the AS website.
• The convention must have had at least 2 events so far.
• The first event must have had over 100 people, and the second over 500 for me to even consider writing an article.

These guidelines will help establish that the convention can be in Wikipedia. Although notability is little more than TRIVIAL, nobody can write an encyclopedia article without good second and several third party sources. Kopf1988 01:12, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

• Saw your post at the League of Copy-editors page. I'm not an admin or have any other "status" here, and generally don't get involved in disputes. But as a congenital copy-editor, I sometimes spot spelling, punctuation, and other errors almost without reading the content. This can actually help ensure that the copy-editor is NPOV and does not change the article's content in the course of correcting it. So, for whatever it's worth, I'm sympathetic. You've obviously seen the AN/I report now, so hopefully you saw that I defended your actions there. I'd like to ask you now to, in an attempt to deescalate the situation, remove or strike through your last edit to Daytona2's page. I just don't see how that could possibly help anything. I think it's obvious that you were both acting with good intentions. It's a statement that should have been removed instead of fixed, but I definitely believe the warning was misplaced. Anime South is an annual 3-day anime convention held in the city of Destin, Florida. It is the only anime convention held within the region that encompasses Mississippi, southern Alabama, and northwest Florida. The convention also has the distinction of being the first anime convention to garner its seed money from a small number of contributors who desired an anime convention in the area. The monies provided by these fans, known as Founders of Anime South, totaled over $2,500 in value.

Programming

• At least three video rooms that show anime and live action Japanese shows on front projection DLP projectors onto 7-foot or larger big screens. Some rooms have Dolby Digital audio. Fan-produced content including fan-parodies and anime music videos are also shown.
• Panels and workshops on subjects such as voice acting, how to draw manga, how to properly wear a kimono, and other cultural subjects. Most panels and workshops (with the exception of voice acting) are run by fans.
• Speed Dating – anime fans, segmented into age groups, get 3-minute “dates” with other anime fans.
• A "Dealers Room" in which commercial vendors such as distributors and retailers set up booths and sell merchandise related to anime, manga, and the Japanese culture (such as clothing, music, and art).
• "Artists Alley" – a set of tables located within the convention in which amateur artists display, advertise, and sell their own artwork.
• A gaming room for console, arcade, and computer games, with tournaments scheduled throughout the weekend. This room is operated in conjunction with CRC Data Technologies.
• A late-night rave dance.
• "Anime Tractor Pull" (ATP) is an interactive panel where the audience is part of an act. The audience asks the actor who is running the panel a question about a particular anime. The actor then responds with any information he or she may have about the anime in question, with humorous commentary. It carries the tag of being run on "Sunday, Sunday, Sunday" to mock the commercials that advertise monster truck tractor pull shows. The panel was initially started in 1999 at Anime USA 2 and is now run exclusively at Anime South. It is considered part improv and part infotainment.
• A craft-based cosplay contest and a skit-based cosplay contest. Many attendees spend most of the convention in costume as their favorite anime, manga, or video game character. A minority number of these costumers enter the craft contest and the skit-based cosplay contest, the latter of which is usually the most widely-attended convention event.
• Opportunities to meet guests and collect autographs.
• Anime South runs a full programming schedule beginning at 8 a.m. on Friday, although the vast majority of the attendees do not appear until Friday afternoon.

Partnerships

Anime South maintains relationships with The Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa and CRC Data Technologies. The Hilton Sandestin Beach Gold Resort & Spa is the largest luxury hotel on the most beautiful beach in the United States, as voted by USA Today. This 2,400 acre resort boasts 73 holes of championship golf, 13 tennis courts, the country's largest charter fishing boat fleet, 3 indoor and outdoor pools, a private beach, a full service spa, 2 whirlpools, scuba diving, 2 fully-stocked fishing ponds, and the nation's largest designer outlet center. CRC Data Technologies is network design/implementation and cyber café company located in Destin, Florida.

History

Origins

Anime South was created by one of the co-founders of WP:Anime_USA. Planning took place over a two-month period, after which the largest luxury hotel in the region, The Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa, was contracted for November 18-20, 2005.

Anime South 2005

The first Anime South convention was held November 18-20, 2005 at The Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa in Destin, Florida with 463 attendees. Guests included Lauren Goodnight (Voice Actress, ADV Films), Maboroshi from Risingsun.net (Photographer), and Marc Matney (Voice Actor). Programming included three video theaters, a video game room, collectible card game tournaments, a dance, a Gothic Lolita Tea Party run by Lauren Goodnight, the Anime Tractor Pull panel, a Dealers Room, and an Artists Alley.

Anime South 2006

The second Anime South convention was held November 3-5, 2006 at The Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa in Destin, Florida with 1,024 attendees. Guests of Honor were Richard Epcar (voice actor), Vic Mignogna (voice actor), and Ellyn Stern (voice actor). Other guests included Jared Claxon of The Mindless Tripod Experience , Ashlee Clark of Animebelle.com, Chris Hazelton of misfile.com, and DFP Radio. Programming included two video theaters, a video game room, a PC gaming room run by CRC Data Tech, a concert by The Mindless Tripod Experience, a Rave dance, an AMV contest, a talent contest, Anime Speed Dating, the Anime Tractor Pull panel, a Dealers Room, and an Artists Alley.

Anime South 2007

The third Anime South convention has been announced for December 28-30, 2007 at The Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa in Destin, Florida. Currently announced Guests of Honor are Richard Epcar (voice actor), Ellyn Stern (voice actor), Steve Bennett IV (artist), Doug Smith (artist/voice actor), DFP Radio, and Ashlee clark of Animebelle.com. Planned programming includes three video theaters, a video and PC gaming room run by CRC Data Tech, a Rave dance, an AMV contest, Anime Speed Dating, the Anime Tractor Pull panel, a Dealers Room, and an Artists Alley.

It wasn't usable at all in that form. It was a copyright violation. Just because you have a citation at the end doesn't mean it's OK to take all of the text, word-for-word, and plop it in the article. (It's OK to reproduce small parts of a text, but those must also be clearly presented as reproductions, with quotation marks.)

I'm not going to reword everything for you. I have too many other things to do. I can tolerate typos and problems with Wikipedia markup, but I'm not going to bend over backwards to salvage content that is a copyright violation.
