Welcome

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia, Anik. I have reverted one of the edits you made to Charlie Root, because it is overkill to list every stat for a player's career, especially when that information is readily available via external links. If you're interested in helping to improve baseball articles, you're certainly welcome to join Wikiproject Baseball -- a group of editors who dedicate some of their time working on baseball-related topics. There's plenty of work to go around, so let me (or any of the other contributors) know if you're up for it. Feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions about how things work around here. No problem. With the season just around the corner, there's going to be plenty of things to do. Honestly, there's already a ton of things to do, so any help you can provide is appreciated. Let me know what your interests are (favorite players/teams, that sort of thing), and I'll try to steer you in the right direction. Glad to have you aboard. If you want to work on Yankees articles, then the first place to go is WikiProject New York Yankees. If you want to dive right in, check out the list of articles at New York Yankees seasons. Several of the season articles (for example, 1937 New York Yankees season) need expansion with information on player transactions, important stories and events from the season, etc. If you want to help with Derek Jeter's article, take a look at some of the comments from the article's recent review and see if you can address the problems raised there. Let me know if you would like other suggestions of if you have any questions. caknuck ° is a silly pudding 15:19, 20 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Salford Grammar School

edit
A tag has been placed on Salford Grammar School requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
