Page Purpose

Rough Idea

Working with a rough table idea. Everything in this is capable of being sourced and referenced. The downside is limited information. Upside is only the basic need-to-know information. Anything else, can be learnt from watching the series. I will work on the Straw Hats page as an example, because most other crew pages will not include most of the input anyhow... And because its the most fanized page of the lot. Most of the fancruft is being removed here to allow the page to fall into wikipedias guidelines. Why did I do that...?

Note: I did not fill out the entire crew list because this is just a demo.

The list of allies and temporay crew is being cut. Too much fancruft, plus it makes things confusing. Rather then spend hours trying to link everything, its easier just to focus on who is currently a member. Accessive information like recruitment progress: cut for complications reasons. That banner was removed of the crew because it is out of date anyway and also it has caused page problems in the past. It is purely decorative.

Uneeded accessive storyline: cut. Reason: The current storyline is still playing out... This section tends to be made bigger and bigger. Until the post water 7 arc, this was never an issue. Foxy's bit is not mentioned at all nor skypiea... So why the sudden change with Thriller Bark? Most of it is unreferenced and uncalled for in detail. Rather then put a heap of info on a page and have a bad page, its easier to have just the characters pre-history and a little bit of storyline. The page itself can contain any overall plot sections if needed rather then each character having the same plot details.

The rough has only basic information. The final version will not have so close to limited information. Stuff like storyline, most of it is being cut because as an encyclopedia you don't need it. Has anyone actually read an encyclopedia? There is one for anime, it has two paragraphs on OP; it lists only the basic details to let the reader know what the series is about. You want to know more? Watch/read the series. Simple as that.

On referencing. This is a big issue on the page. Its not Oda doesn't supply information on anything, because he does... Just no-one takes note. All references need to be on a page, from the history to bounty. Without them, the page is not legit.

Crew strength removed for the Straw Hats. Reason; the crew is ever growing stronger. Best to take it out unless they "level" off. It had become just another exccessive list.
