Project IGI

Thanks for yet more suggestions. I kind of liked how SWAT combined the regular shootouts with stealth tactics together. By the way, the IGI page could use some formatting and cleaning. - Mgm|(talk) 08:42, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

Personal Websites as Secondary Sources

WP:RS states: Personal websites and blogs may never be used as secondary sources. Please note, the emphisis is present on that page, I am not changing the statement as it appears on that page. Terryeo 15:12, 22 April 2006 (UTC)

I've never referenced a personal website or blog as a secondary source. If you're concerned about citations found in the Dianetics article, discuss it at Talk:Dianetics, and try to be mindful of consensus. ˉˉanetode15:24, 22 April 2006 (UTC)

Terryeo selectively editing posts

I've just discovered Terryeo selectively editing a post to him from on his user talk page. [1] While my post to him was not, I admit, perfectly CIVIL (I have not yet found the secret to keeping perfectly calm while someone pretends I'm simple-minded and completely gullible) what he edited out was not merely my rhetorical excesses but my explanation to him of why he could not treat a source that was also available on a "personal website" as if that was the only place it was available. You might want to check and see if he has similarly edited any of your own posts to him. -- Antaeus Feldspar 20:58, 22 April 2006 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:KZ3.jpg

This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:KZ3.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ReyBrujo 21:57, 23 April 2006 (UTC)

Image Tagging for Image:Tekken6.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Tekken6.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

VandalProof 1.2 Now Available

After a lenghty, but much-needed Wikibreak, I'm happy to announce that version 1.2 of VandalProof is now available for download! Beyond fixing some of the most obnoxious bugs, like the persistent crash on start-up that many have experienced, version 1.2 also offers a wide variety of new features, including a stub-sorter, a global user whitelist and blacklist, navigational controls, and greater customization. You can find a full list of the new features here. While I believe this release to be a significant improvement over the last, it's nonetheless nowhere near the end of the line for VandalProof. Thanks to Rob Church, I now have an account on test.wikipedia.org with SysOp rights and have already been hard at work incorporating administrative tools into VandalProof, which I plan to make available in the near future. An example of one such SysOp tool that I'm working on incorporating is my simple history merge tool, which simplifies the process of performing history merges from one article into another. Anyway, if you haven't already, I'd encourage you to download and install version 1.2 and take it out for a test-drive. As always, your suggestions for improvement are always appreciated, and I hope that you will find this new version useful. Happy editing! --AmiDaniel (talk) 02:05, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

I mind.

You removed information from my User page. Your statement was, "I hope you don't mind." This is a reply to you. I mind. Terryeo 22:29, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

Paul Cyr accidently posted to your User page instead of the User talk page, I moved his comment. Are you going to reprimand him too, or is this just my special reward for trying to help? ˉˉanetode22:42, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

You are free to read my page and see what I did, free to read Paul's page and see what he does, too. And of course, free to read the page involved and see what goes on there. Thank you for making a clean edit summary which told what you did. Terryeo 05:29, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Apologies...

...for wiping away an edit with my revert of Dead or Alive. I don't know how it happened - well, truthfully I *do*, but admitting I clicked the wrong thing is naught but the first step to supreme and utter defeat - but I apologize for blanking your contributions.

Seems to be going on alot around here, but I "hope you don't mind". Sorry. Papacha 03:29, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Rolls-Royce-100EX-Concept-'.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Rolls-Royce-100EX-Concept-'.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

The One on the Right is on the Left

Thank you for getting to the point about Fair Use better than I could. I don't get what that one guy has such a problem with. But I was almost certain that he was wrong, and I appreciate your helping out. As to whether the song page itself should be deleted, that's thankfully up to the community and not a single user. Wahkeenah 17:41, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Hello Anetode. When you use template tags on talk pages, it'd be much appreciated if you could substitute according to the guidelines at Wikipedia:Template substitution. Just add subst: to the tag; for example, {{subst:bv}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template. Thanks. :) --Rory096 18:05, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Moving pages ?

Hi, thanks for moving the Prezista entry ... one of my firsta actions at Wikipedia was to move a page. As you can see, the history is not moved with the page when copying just the content. And ... some people really flame you for this, I will not. The next time you should maybe ask an administrator to move the history, too. Happy editing, I love Wikipedia and the collaborative work ... JKW 11:58, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

The history is currently preserved at the prezista redirect, although I agree that it is a pretty sloppy way of doing it. Next time I'll ask an admin to move the history, thanks for the suggestion. ˉˉanetode╞┬╡ 12:01, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

Arcade flyers

Hi, I was wondering if you could give me your opinion on using arcade flyers for both representation and identification within {{Infobox Arcade game}}. I noticed you uploaded a number of flyers and I sort of took the hint and added more to keep arcade related articles stylistically consistent, but I ran into opposition along the way. Basically I am just polling to see where people stand if this is perhaps a matter best left at the editor's discretion. Thank you. o/s/p 13:28, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

The new Infobox is now in full effect. I've already taken the liberty to summarize the video output fields Video resolution and Monitor into a single field labeled Display. Could you swing by and see if there's anything else that can be improved? Usage on talk will have to be updated to accommodate the new structure as well. Cheers //osp 14:06, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

Blackbeard's Age

Why did you change the year of Blackbeard's birth back to 1680? I have seen no evidence that says he was born in 1680. The article also says that Blackbeard's birth is BELIEVED to be in 1680, but that's not solid fact. Unless there is evidence that he was born in the year 1680, not 1681, 1682 or any other year, I believe the year of his birth should be changed back. Bcody 15:01, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

Hi, I began drafting on a syntax guide to go along with aforementioned infobox and I'm enquiring if there's any interest in one being made.
