Plea for help edit

Hello! I am a regular contributor on several wikia sites, but I am new to this particular site, so I will need a little help ‘breaking in’ lol. I do not really need help with the basics, I just mainly need somebody there to help with wikipedia policies so I am looking for a mentor of sorts =) I am sure there was a code to attract someone, but I don’t know it! If somebody could please set this up, it would be much appreciated. Thank you x Andromache 08:14, 21 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi Andromache – I saw your comment, and if nobody has already offered, I’ll gladly be your mentor. Just leave me a message on my talk page and I will sort it out for you. All the best, TheMoridian 08:46, 21 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hi again, I’ve added the adoption templates to our userpages, so I’m now your mentor (although in wikipedia jargon I’m your ‘’adopter’’). You say you’re already experienced with the basics, so I’ll skip straight to the policies on wikipedia. It would take way too long to learn every policy off by heart, so I’d just recommend sticking to what you would expect – for example, don’t make personal attacks, don’t vandalise, don’t have more than one account etc. etc. This is what I do, and I haven’t got into any crises yet – and usually, if there is a special policy regarding a certain area of wikipedia, it will be stated clearly somewhere!
I won’t be actively teaching you about wikipedia, as you already know most of what I would teach – but if your ever need any help at all, feel free to ask on my talk page! I’ll keep an eye on how you’re doing, and if I have any advice .etc, I’ll let you know! All the best, TheMoridian 09:18, 21 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Catch-up edit

Hi Andromache! I’m just doing my rounds through my adoptee-army, and I was temporarily blinded. Oh my God: your userpage is brilliant! Lots of userpages look very similar, but your page is original and personal to you – I absolutely love it!  :) I think you need to play with your userboxes though – they are very similar to mine! Remember: if you need help with anything at all, just leave a message on my talk page. My wikipedia activity is back to its usual level now my exams are over, so I normally respond to queries within a day or so! All the best (and extra congrats on an outstanding achievement!), TheMoridian 13:03, 14 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 02:05, 6 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
