Hi Alok

Welcome again to the Wiki and I sincerely hope you decide to stay.Bhadani is a very helpful guide and I am sure he would help you as much as he did me!I am sorry if I appear to be a bit critical from time to time but the idea is to asssit you in the spirit of Wikipedia. Please feel free to consult me if ou wish.I have also lived in Bihar-you seem to come from the state(although I am a Tamil Iyer)! Coming back to the list of kayasthas, there is a difference between accepted quantum of notability to warrant an article and eligibility to be on the list. Most people you have listed are unfamilair names to most!Would be graet if you could create an article each on them and leave it to the editors to advise.Mahamaya Prasad Sinha and KB Sahay were no doubt chief meinisters very briefly-but I do not think they made any lasting contribution to be remebered for anything other than have been chief ministers. The same applies for Mathur. Can you for instance convicne anyone whether Sahay(Subodh) despite having been a Minister thrice through changing party affiliations has done anything worthwhile to be remebered for anything other than holding these positions? We all know people in India can get to positions particularly in politics for reasons other than their quality of work!It is the lasting nature of contributions that should determine whether a person should be on this selective list, not positions they held! There would be no end to the names here ;you would have to include Raj Bahadur who was a Cabinet Minister five times for instance in Nehru Shastri and Indira Cabinets,Biswanath Das who was a governor on three occasions and chief minister once and PC Ghosh who was a chief minister twice!Do you remebber any of these! They certainly could do with an article here but to be on this list one has to include those who are and will be remembred for the quality of their work! You would note that even someone non-controversial like Brajkishore Prasad who was a Kayastha is not here as he died early! You would also note the others including Biju and Jyotobabau are figures who would be remembered apaprt from being CM's.It is best to keep this list elite.I agree Shiv Pujan Sahay merits-and you may if you wish add Vrindavanlal Verma. But if my memory serves me right(from my years in Bihar) Raja Radhika Raman was a writer who used to pen small articles in Dharmayug and other periodicals -I recall a very foul mouthed ill tempered intemperate gynaecologist at the Patna Medical College claiming that she was related to him and he getting embarassed by her uncivilised conduct at a party!I ceratinly would not include him in this lsit. And was Renu a Kayastha?I am not sure but I leave it to your judgement! You appear top be a Kayastha yourself!)Best wishes(Vr 06:46, 18 September 2006 (UTC))Reply

Hi Alok

After snding you the note,I felt bad as I felt you may view it as a snub;please do not do so!I think it would be an excellent idea to consult senior wikipedians like Bhadani and I also think it would be wonderful if you could create articles on the people you named. It is always preferable to start off creating articles before making contribution to the lists-at least that is what I was advised. You can create stubs-and once they are there for a while we can always make a case for the subjects to be included in the exclusive lists. As such red marks do not look nice-adminstrator dab was clear-only those with articles existing should find a place on teh list-you may have noted his comments.Best wishes(Vr 06:30, 19 September 2006 (UTC))Reply
