Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. SpencerT•C 09:14, 19 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Requested username:

Request reason:

Wiki policy didn't want the first username so I changed it my reasoning for appealing the block is because I didn't know I was sharing the edits. I was just trying to learn the different codes I needed when making a wiki page. This is my first time making edits so I'm still learning. Allegra Foundation (talk) 09:59, 20 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

This choice of new username is not an improvement. Please read the username policy. Usernames must be individualistic in nature. A username such as "JohnPublic of AF" would be acceptable(your real name is not required). Please read WP:COI and WP:PAID. Wikipedia has articles, not mere "pages". As you have found, there are no private areas on Wikipedia, though some areas are harder to find than others. All edits to every page on Wikipedia appear in the Recent Changes feed. Wikipedia is not a place for organizations to tell about the good work they do. It is for summarizing what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about an organization, showing how it meets Wikipedia's special definition of a notable organization. You won't be unblocked to, in the short term, edit about your organization. If that is your only goal here, this is the end of the road. If you are interested in being a general contributor, please tell what topics you might edit about. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 10:29, 20 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
I've merged your requests, as only a single open request is needed. 331dot (talk) 10:20, 20 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:UK Coffee Week

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:UK Coffee Week, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. SpencerT•C 09:15, 19 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi Spencer, first off I would like to apologize if any of my messages came off as rude. I didn't know Wiki actually have people answering messages and such. I'm an intern for a nonprofit and this is my first time trying to make a wiki page and I didn't realize that even drafts can be public.
After reading the guidelines policy and the blocking policy I fully understand why my account is blocked. I truly didn't mean any malicious intent with the wiki page. I also know that I used a lot of copy and paste. That's because I wrote the script for the article in a word doc so I wouldn't lose it if I messed up and it erased all of it. I also rechanged my name to something less corporationy.
My company is also a charity and the page is about UK Coffee Week and Project Waterfall with just information about what it is and such. I have no intentions to make a biased page for a company. The pages are about a week long charity with coffee shops and consumers to raise money for project waterfall which is a program to bring clean water and education to rural communities in Africa and South America. The pages will be factual with actual information from independent sources. I have all the research and everything with sources. My company doesn't have a wiki page about them. They just wanted these pages because coffee and water play a huge role in society and communities that grow the coffee beans don't have the resources to clean drinking water, hygienic products, and education. I'm not trying to push a biased opinion of the company, I'm just trying to put the facts so others can also become interested in the subject.
I may be a college student but my coding and computer skills are a little better than a cavemans.

As an intern, the Wikipedia Terms of Use require you to make a formal paid editing disclosure. This is the case even if the internship is unpaid, as you are compensated with the experience of the work. I wish you luck with the good work your organization is doing, but Wikipedia is not for telling the world about it. "I'm just trying to put the facts so others can also become interested in the subject" is the definition of promotion on Wikipedia. 331dot (talk) 13:42, 20 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
You may make another unblock request for someone else to review. As I said above, only a single open request is needed at a time(not separate ones).331dot (talk) 13:55, 20 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
