User talk:Albion moonlight/Yarrow
Hello
editI have started with the opening and have added a a sentence to it that includes his attendance and alumni status at Cornell University. I have verified the fact that he attended Cormell, here but I do not know how to do sourcing very well so please feel free to ad the sourcing and or show me how to do it. I also intend to add more info to the opening and create more sections to the article as as I go. This edit is just a beginning. :Albion moonlight (talk) 06:24, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
I made a second and third edit. I sourced it through Answers.com here. Please feel free to move things around as you like. I am simply trying to get the ball rolling : Albion moonlight (talk) 09:43, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
Operation Respect
editWe could possibly merge Operation Respect into the Yarrow article. I'm not certain that we should (or that we should not). What do others think? (Is this where we should have this discussion, or should it be back on the main article talk page? hmmmm....) Aleta Sing 02:35, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, I think we should probably have the discussion in the more public space. I have raised the issue at Talk:Peter Yarrow#Operation Respect redux. Let's decide the issue there so anyone interested can see and participate in the discussion (even if it's likely only to be the same handful of us). Aleta Sing 03:15, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
Sourcing latest additions to the opening.
editCan some one please teach me how to do this. The source for his appearances on 61 separate albums or Cds is here. :Albion moonlight (talk) 08:28, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
- I have also added the following information to the opening
On behalf of Operation Respect, Yarrow has appeared, pro bono, in areas as diverse as Hong Kong, Vietnam, Bermuda, Croatia, South Africa, Egypt, Argentina, Canada. And Congregation Beth Am, where the teachers in the Jewish Learning Center will be trained. In all, the program has been presented to more than _ million educational leaders and more than 10 million children. In some form, the project has reached nearly 1/3 of all elementary and middle schools in America; that’s 20,000 schools.
In 2003, a resolution in Congress recognized the achievements of Peter Yarrow and Operation Respect. The Congressional Caucus gave him a standing ovation. In August of 2006, he met with 35 organizations, from the League of Cities to the Academy of Education, from Americans for the Arts to Newspapers in Education, to unite them in a commitment to “shifting the American educational paradigm, to educating the whole child, not just in academics, but in character, heart, social-emotional development. As we Jews say, Let him be a mensch first; everything else will work out.
