Naming format edit

Hi...I see you're fairly new here, so you may not know this, but our naming format on Wikipedia for geographical articles actually doesn't include the word Canada at the end, we normally just use "Place, Province" (or even just "Place" if the place is unquestionably the most important place with that name.) In fact, we already had an article at Amber Valley, Alberta, so you didn't need to write one up at "Amber Valley, alberta, canada". I hope that information helps you find things a bit more easily. Thanks. Bearcat 08:00, 16 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the information. Seems a rather inexact practice that should be revised but I can live with it. Now, as for the new information I added under the wrong title - where can it be found to transfer over to the older page?AlbertaSunwapta 18:19, 14 February 2007 (UTC)AlbertaSunwaptaReply

AfD Nomination: Rare automotive features edit

An editor has nominated the article Rare automotive features for deletion, under the Articles for deletion process. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the nomination (also see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Your opinions on why the topic of the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome: participate in the discussion by editing Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rare automotive features. Add four tildes like this ˜˜˜˜ to sign your comments. You can also edit the article Rare automotive features during the discussion, but do not remove the "Articles for Deletion" template (the box at the top of the article), this will not end the deletion debate. Samantha Savage Smith edit

Don't get me wrong, I agree that she probably is notable enough in principle — even I've heard her on the CBC and downloaded a couple of her MP3s — but the original version of the article just wasn't doing a good enough job at explaining her actual notability according to the expectations of WP:NMUSIC. The references you've added to the new version are more solid, so while the article will probably still get a bit of cleanup attention it's a much more satisfactory start this time, and I'll gladly contribute what I can to make it even better. ArbCom 2020 Elections voter message edit

Hello! Voting in the 2020 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 7 December 2020. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2020 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:29, 24 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
