Chicago Surrealist Group/Surrealist Movement in the United States merger

Hello again. I have received no further comment on my proposed merger of these two articles. Would you interpret this as a general lack of concern/care on the part of other nominally-interested editors? My temptation is to interpret it thusly and go ahead with the merger. It has now been 3 weeks since I made the proposal. Should I go ahead and wait until it has been a full month? I have never performed a merger before, so I want to make sure that I do this right. Let me know what you think. Thanks. ---RepublicanJacobiteThe'FortyFive' 00:35, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Lima

Thanks for the swift action. Lima couldn't decide if I was sockppuppet or puppeteer. It's hard to be both. Eschoir 05:48, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

Iaso

Would semiprotection from anonymous edits be an option? I really don't want to take a hard line or risk an appearance of censorship, but the anonymous editor is not, I think, going to engage responsively with issues brought up on the talk page. Wareh 16:28, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

You're correct that paying no attention to the Iaso-troll is the best option, and I'm sorry if I've been partly responsible for prolonging this whole waste of time; I find it hard to leave insults to other users and blatant misrepresentations of sources unchallenged, but I shall just grit my teeth and ignore him/her. I meant ask you anyway, as an admin: do you think this user is engaging in blatant enough trolling that his future posts can be removed from Talk pages? EALacey 20:47, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for limiting the outlets through which this anon can abuse the encyclopedia. It's about time, I think.--C.Logan 00:21, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

SSP help, hard case

Could you look at this: Wikipedia:Suspected_sock_puppets#User:MarkThomas, I just don't know what to do with it. Thanks. RlevseTalk 15:44, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

Oh yea, but they did half a job, they didn't tag the users nor close the case at SSP. I hate it when they do this. Thanks anyway.RlevseTalk 16:10, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Myth1727

Hello! You closed the debate on this suspected sock puppet. This "Maurizio Giuliano may possibly be an article about the contributor himself. It seems central in the contributions..." has just been removed by User:RHRowlins with the edit summary: "removed unproven allegation of a defamatory nature towards a specific person". I don't see what was defamatory in that... and I never wrote more than "Maurizio Giuliano may possibly be an article about the contributor himself" I am planning to revert the recent deletion. Any objection? --Edcolins 15:53, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

User:Songhonite appears to be a new sockpuppet of User:Myth1727. The case may need to be reopened. --Edcolins 18:17, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Auno3 (3rd)

Since you have a background in this case, could you look at this? I think it may be Auno3, but he's getting smarter at avoiding detection. Thanks.RlevseTalk 16:53, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for help and the complement.RlevseTalk 17:17, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

RfC

I don't know if you were around during the recent blocking of the page due to edit waring, but those events and events at other articles have resulted in an for Dbachmann. This isn't about content as much as it is about conduct. You've always been very respectful and neutral even when we have not agreed so you opinion would be valuable, I think. Thought you might want to know. futurebird (talk) 18:16, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

Anthemoessa

Hi! I created a page called Anthemoessa. It's about the island of the Sirens. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthemoessa Would you mind editing it please? Thanks! Neptunekh (talk) 07:56, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

Village Pump

I have started a discussion on the Village Pump [1] about inconsistency in sanctions applied. One of the examples I give refers to your block on me in June - I thought you should be aware so you can make your case if you wish to. Kelpin (talk) 18:51, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

Barnstar

Thanks for the barnstar! I finally made calls on Wiccaweb and Verzastyle. Hope they were right. I also turned down a case where I'd asked for diffs, the guy edited thereafter, and did not get the diffs. RlevseTalk 23:31, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

Jesus

Hello Akhilleus, I added my comments to the Discussion page why the passage regarding consensus among Historians and Biblical scholars on Jesus historicity should be removed. So if you feel as defending your position, please do so there.

Thank you,

hello

I've never met you before. :-) I saw your name on the talk of the Sock report page.. for a long while now there have been an intermittent stream of IP editors and redlink new users on Talk:Hawaiian language who spew racist shtuff etc. I've left messages on some of their talk pages.. I've thought for a long time it was all the same person, over and over again.. there was one user who I think was blocked a while back... I dunno. I've never reported a sock & don't have time to read the many rules etc. So if you think it warrants attention..... Later! Ling.Nut (talk) 13:23, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your reply. I really wanna stop all this low-level abuse on Talk:Hawaiian language. I dunno if you noticed, but I've deleted the worst blocks over time.. over the past few months. I really think this is just one person over and over again. I am getting more than a little tired of it. I'll... try to find time to dig into it a little bit... Ling.Nut (talk) 04:10, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Hello

I came across you here. I'm sorry if I came across as a bit fraught in my original posting. I do appreciate you looking at the situation and would be very grateful if you could please continue to keep an eye on it. Yours, --Major Bonkers (talk) 22:10, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

That was quick! Thank you. --Major Bonkers (talk) 22:15, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

"Capture bonding"

Hi,

My mistake, I admit... I didn't check through the whole history of the article, I just compared the version as it was at AfD-time (which is normally what one should do, but this case probably deserved an extra-careful look.) Still, although the 31 October version was mentioned at the AfD, I'm not certain all commenters (or the closer) saw it. Combine that with the minor difficulty at DRV, where Henson's new draft was removed mistakenly by a commenter, and I still (weakly) think that relisting is the right course.

I know this may be an aggravation for you, as it is tangentially related to an ArbCom case. I'm sorry for that, too -- as someone removed from all that, I was focused solely on the content, and I honestly thought there was enough difference and merit to send the material to AfD. At least a second hearing should end the matter decisively. Best wishes, Xoloz (talk) 14:23, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi Akhilleus. Please consider adding your admin username to the growing list at Classification of admins. Best! -- Jreferee t/c 22:43, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

ArbCom

I have filed a case here, I just listed myself an Dbachmann as the involved parties, because I was unsure how to do it, if you would also like to be listed as an involved party and make a statement, please feel free to add your name and statement. futurebird 20:58, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
