Jack Zolov

edit

The most important thing is that the article needs to contain actual references to media (newspaper/magazine articles, books, etc.) about him. That doesn't mean that it should include extensive quotes from newspapers evaluating and commenting on the quality of his work, though — what we want and need is references that verify the facts. It's also important to be cautious about not writing in an overly promotional tone; it's not particularly encyclopedic to provide an extensive list of direct quotes from reviews of his work, or statements that by their nature aren't easily sourceable to a neutral reference, such as how good he is at this or that or the other thing.

I've restored the page to User:Aguertin/Jack Zolov for you, so here's a few things that would help:

  1. Drop the "Jack Zolov is "everything a film-maker should be," (The Gazette). He has established himself as an accomplished director producer and has mastered his profession through a keen understanding of both camera work and the art of montage." line from the first section. That's the kind of thing that can't really be properly sourced as an objective statement about him.
  2. Drop the "Critics" subsection.
  3. Expand on the "Major projects" and "charity projects" sections, maybe writing them in paragraph format instead of lists.
  4. Add some references to media sources about him, if at all possible. His page on imdb.com may be helpful for some details, though it shouldn't be the only source in the article. References don't have to be only in English — French sources are okay too — but they should, as much as possible, be fact-based references about him rather than just film reviews.

Hope that helps a bit. I'm willing to help out if you have any more questions, so feel free to ask for help if you need it. Bearcat (talk) 03:01, 7 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
