Roy Martina AfD edit

I went ahead and undeleted and put it through an AfD so others can see the content. It can be found here. I am going to stay nuetral as it is my speedy deletion, and I don't want to influance anything. —— Eagle (ask me for help) 22:14, 5 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Neve Campbell edit

I am new to Wikipedia and I seem to have a problem. You may recall discussing this article earlier today.

I understand that you are an administrator at Wikipedia, so perhaps you can help. Please refer to the discussion page for all of the details; including my deleted comments therein that I am unable to restore.

Thanks, --Lance 08:11, 7 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I read your message to me at "my talk," and I'm not sure where to reply. So I came back here to reply.

I was astonished to read your suggestion that I should "apologize" to the user that had clearly made several hyperbolic statements about Judaism, which evidently appear to be acceptable to you. As a Jew, I consider that this user's comments were both hostile and antisemitic.

The whole tenor and tone of this user's comments were hostile and confrontational. So it is reasonable to ask:

Were this user's hostile and hyperbolic comments on the "discussion" page, that at best can be described as insensitive, acceptable to you? And if so, why?

And, by the way, I am a Canadian Jew, and it just struck me as suspicious that Neve Campbell, who receives a lot of press coverage in Canada, has never claimed Jewish ancestry in Canada (where such an identity doesn't confer any "advantage" as it does in America). But, in Long Island, N.Y., perhaps the most Jewish place in the world outside of Israel, Neve Campbell claims Jewish descent. This explained my interest in the article.

The user in question was just ready to by-pass this whole issue as not controversial, when it is indeed controversial. Since when does a single self-serving source represent an acceptable reference for an encyclopedia? --Lance 21:23, 7 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I don't know about anyone else, but I would personally view Lance's comment "has never claimed Jewish ancestry in Canada (where such an identity doesn't confer any "advantage" as it does in America" as a slightly offensive comment, as I would "Catholic churches in particular, were viewed as creepy places". What it comes down to is that we go by what sources say; any of our own thoughts or opinions on the subject matter violate WP:NOR and WP:V unless they have also been expressed by reputable sources specifically on the subject Mad Jack 22:05, 7 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Inadvertent edit edit

I may have changed something here; but I think I restored it; if not, excuse me.--Lance 03:28, 8 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Query edit

Hi, you have locked TRNC article. Could you revert it to the last verion by yourself (Revision as of 13:07, 7 October 2006) and then lock as User:Makalp has changed the article drastically from what it was? Have a look here: [1] Thanks Aristovoul0s 14:47, 7 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Craig Edward MacLean on deletion review edit

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Craig Edward MacLean. Since you closed the deletion discussion for (or speedy-deleted) this article, your reasons on how or why you did so will be greatly appreciated in the above review. --W.marsh 21:54, 7 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Jeremy G Wittet on deletion review edit

I have asked for a review of JEREMY G WITTET since you speedy deleted the article. Why dont you wait for a discussion about notability? I am new to wikipedia i do not know how to establish notablilty but it is clear that he is (see the references) --- well known within community, electoral candidate, school trustee, revitalisation team member... indeed there is controversy about him, too (all referenced)

Ethiopian woredas edit

Thanks for catching my typos on the articles I created today. -- llywrch 23:40, 8 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus edit

Dear Aecis, nobody expects you to make a judgement but to be fair. You not only protected the article but also edited it. If you had protected it immediately without any change or reverted to a version prior to the conflict, nobody would object to you. However, you involved in the issue, kept the "totally disputed" tag, removed the others. E104421 12:06, 9 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

User:Makalp/3rr edit

This was a subpage. I copied and pasted (I deleted the reported user names] my last report here, for speedy reaction to report any violation of 3rv rule. But,sorry, mistakely a forgot to delete a username in one sentence. Now, I deleted all page. Thanks Makalp 11:10, 10 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Tamar.com edit

Hello - you marked our company page for deletion, but I think it is fine under the Company guidelines. The guidelines state "The company or corporation has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent of the company itself" - we are frequently mentioned in the press, we are mentioned in the current issue of Revolution for instance, and Marketing Week. Can you clarify why you think we don't qualify? Thanks User:Henweb 13:51, 10 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re: My Barnstar edit

Thanks for the honor, but you may want to wait until I actually get them all uploaded -- there are over 500 of them, & I've only added just over 100 of them. ;-) -- llywrch 22:43, 10 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well, 9 of them are in their own subcategory, Category:Special woredas of Ethiopia, so that ought to help. But seriously, I hadn't thought that far ahead; I was more interested in just getting the darned things written & up on Wikipedia. Feel free to propose it over at Wikipedia Talk:WikiProject Ethiopia, & we'll see what people think. (If enough people speak up, I can fix the half I haven't put up in one quick action, then go back & fix what's already up.) -- llywrch 22:56, 10 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Deletion edit

Hi - Droevig, I was just editing so that you know that I do exist. I thought I existed before but I guess not. Seeing as how you are a very knowledgeable person for Wikipedia - I wonder what it exactly qualifies someone as notable - I am obviously trying to KEEP the page on Gary Ludington. How do you recommend I do this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lejdesign (talkcontribs)

May I remove my IP address from the discussion page in question and replace it with my username since I was the one who wrote the comment? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lejdesign (talkcontribs)
