Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Adam Bond. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Hope City Church, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. PureRED (talk) 16:35, 10 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Removal of Controversy Section

edit

Hi Adam,

Based on your apparent conflict of interest with the church, I would strongly advise you to stop removing the "controversy" section from the Hope City Church article. I've been very patient and accommodating in allowing you to make edits to your own organization's page despite your COI; however, removing negative information simply because you dislike it crosses a line. If it happens again, I will have no choice but to bring this issue to the COI noticeboard. This group of individuals may decide revert all of your edits and block you and your organization from making further edits of any kind. PureRED (talk) 02:07, 11 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

I removed it once as it wasn't factual but one opinion but when it came back i didn't remove it. Thank you for being complicit in my editing, i do appreciate it. I haven't edited it since it re appeared and would much prefer it if this didn't go any higher. Thank you.

When i came back this morning it wasn't there which was not of my doing but i have just placed it back in.
