... The graphics of Aculina Strasnei Popa is being born out of a profound bondage feeling, doubled by an irresistible aspiration to purity. The artist creates driven by an enthusiasm that breaks all the being's barriers. The framework of her works seems too tight for her spiritual energy. The same motives reappear in her delirious vision: the ladder, the wing, the wheel, the cross and the human being. This correlation of the human being with the cross and the ladder offer a Christian sense to her yearning high up in the sky. Especially her pastels carry a living memory of the Byzantine icon. Groups of characters with unusually tall silhouettes are waiting for the anger falling from above, but the apocalyptic terror is banished by a rainbow or an angel.Aculina Strasnei Popa is an artist with multiple resources. Her evolution has shown it clearly that her authentic calling is drawing. Not accidentally, her international success recorded over the years had been acquired for easel graphics. Even when she approaches the pastel - style located at the border between drawing and painting - the line is the essential expression means. However, it is important that Aculina Strasnei Popa has made drawing a style of major art, a way of expressing a relationship with the world and an attitude towards life. Her graphics is born out of a deep bondage feeling of the human being, doubled by an irresistible aspiration to the highest. Due to this fact, her works are full of some kind of tension always turning out from the compositional assembly. The entire picture is drawn up with a fierce perseverance; the shapes are transcribed with an extremely abundant shade. The artist desires to leave nothing unoccupied in the image field, and the lines orientation is changing continuously, like a whirlpool. Some shapes and motives receive a symbol function. The ladder, the wing, the cross lead to the idea of ascension, become the signs of a humanity ennobled by the desire for purity. A Christian breath blows softly in this graphics.
