Speedy deletion nomination of Steven D. Waldman, M.D., J.D.

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Steven D. Waldman, M.D., J.D., requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. You have a conflict of interest, since the subject of the article is someone you are associated with. Creating articles on topics with which you have a conflict of interest is discouraged here. See Wikipedia:Conflict of interest for further guidance.
The article was promotional, and need not be promoting a product or company to be promotional. That's why it was deleted.
There's also possibly a concern about notability. Please see Wikipedia:Notability (people), and particularly Wikipedia:Notability (academics) to learn about the criteria a person like this must meet before meriting an article on Wikipedia. Thanks. ~Amatulić (talk) 22:08, 22 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
and from the manner of writing, I strongly suspect it was previously published elsewhere. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously; and does not accept material copied from other sources unless it is in the public domain, or released to us under a free license (It is, by the way, not necessary for pages to have a notice to be copyright: everything published on the internet or elsewhere is copyright to the owner of that content unless specified otherwise.) It might be possible to get permission, but there is no point in doing so--a web site of this sort almost always is unsuitable for WP, because it is usually written as a press release, praising rather than describing the subject and containing material we would not include. It is therefore always better to rewrite. I think he might be notable, but to demonstrate that in a biography, every claim made needs to be referenced to a 3rd party independent published reliable source, print or online, but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases. Your use of multiple Wikipedia accounts

edit

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/AbouNadoo, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.
