Civility

edit

FYI, comments such as these[1][2] are considered a violation of Wikipedia's policy of civility. I see that you've already been blocked once.[3] Could you please review WP:CIVIL? Thanks, Elonka 23:34, 26 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Nice work, sherlock. Aatombomb 05:04, 27 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please stop reporting this user to WP:AIV. If the subject of an article is concerned about controversial material within it, they have every right to express this. Blocking them would only be a very last resort as their input is desirable to ensure WP:BLP is followed. Please work with him to agree a mutually acceptable version of the article. WjBscribe 03:57, 30 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

In addition on reviewing the history of the article, both of you have violated our three revert rule. Please discuss the matter with him rather than edit warring over this content dispute. You may want to try Wikipedia's dispute resolution processes. WjBscribe 04:00, 30 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
I think the fact that he is clearly upset about it suggest otherwise. He seems to be being dealt with rather heavy handedly. I intend to get his thoughts on the matter and look into it further. But I am not willing to characterise his edits as vandalism even if they are against the consensus formed on the article's talkpage. WjBscribe 04:06, 30 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Civility - 2

edit

I realize that tensions are running high at Talk:Matt Sanchez, but name-calling is not going to help matters.[4] Can you please try to maintain a more civil tone? Thanks, Elonka 04:10, 25 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I agree that Sanchez has made many offensive comments, and if he continues to do so, I will support seeing him blocked from Wikipedia. But just because he is being rude, doesn't mean that we should be rude back. It's my opinion that if everyone could stop yelling and just talk about things in a civil manner, we might actually be able to find a solid compromise version of the article. --Elonka 04:43, 25 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Personal attacks

edit

Wikipedia has a pretty clear policy against personal attacks. Your comments here and here are completely unacceptable. Please do not insult other editors however much they may annoy you. WjBscribe 04:52, 25 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have made it clear in several places that to Matt Sanchez that I think he is being far too confrontational (and I note a valid warning from Horologium on his talkpage). But he has at no point singled out individual editors for abuse in the manner you have done. He has in my opinion just about crossed the line of what is acceptable - you however most definitely have crossed it. WjBscribe 05:02, 25 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Actually I hadn't seen those 2 edits on the 22nd - but I see that he was properly warned on that occasion- see [5]. But if you want I will point out to him that I agree those comments were unacceptable. WjBscribe 05:14, 25 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
I've commented on those posts here. I certainly hadn't seen those edits - had I done at the time, I would likely have blocked him then and there. The rules do apply to everyone - and I certainly won't tolerate homophobic abuse being thrown around the place. WjBscribe 05:20, 25 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
