Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

I understand that this account, AMCForg, was blocked because it was used for publicity and/or promotional purposes. I understand that advertising an organization or its campaigns, clients, products, services or leading individuals is prohibited, and that advertising may be considered spamming and will likely lead to penalties such as blocking, as in this case. If I am unblocked, the contributions I intend to make involve using an article's talk page to point out incorrect material within an existing article. Here are a few key questions:

• Do you understand that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and not a business directory?
• Do you understand conflict of interest?
• Do you understand that to be considered for an encyclopedia article, the subject must be notable?

Thanks for your response. I understand each of your three questions/points: I know that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and should not be used to promote any businesses or act as a business directory; that conflict of interest prohibits me from writing or editing articles on myself or my organization, including campaigns, services, products, and clients; and that a subject must be considered notable for a Wikipedia article to be created and that not every subject is entitled to an article.

A little background: my boss has tasked me with restoring our Wikipedia account, and after reviewing the rules and guidelines, I plan to fulfill my bosses order (to correct factual errors and inaccuracies within different articles about our company and our membership, comprised of consulting firms) not by editing any of the articles but by using the talk function instead to have a Wikipedia contributor make changes, based on sources I provide. If my account is unblocked, my intention is to use the talk function to request a change be made on those articles where I have a conflict of interest and am prevented from editing. I know that editing or writing articles where I have a conflict of interest will result in penalties.
