One-word stage names

edit

In reference to your edit on this page - The template at the top states "The specific problem is: this list also contains people with mononymous real names instead of stage names".

Elvis is a typical example. He is a person known by his mononym i.e. his real first name. Yes it might also be his stage name, but this article specifically excludes people whose stage name is also a mononym.

You listed several examples - Prince, Beyoncé and Madonna. Prince and Madonna are NOT listed on this page because their stage names are mononyms. (Currently Beyoncé is, but she will be removed shortly.)

For the same reason, Elvis should not be listed here as well. Ozzieboy (talk) 19:01, 18 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Denisarona. I noticed that you recently removed content from Elvis (name) without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks.   Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living (or recently deceased) persons, as you did to Carol Vorderman. Thank you. Belbury (talk) 10:28, 28 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
