My edit to the Humanities desk

edit

@Jayron32: Good morning. You restored my edit, pointing out that I am an established editor. I have just switched on to discover that I have been blocked for "long-term abuse" with an incomprehensible message. There was no explanation - I had to create this talk page myself. Please look into this. 82.13.208.70 (talk) 12:18, 15 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Jayron32: You did well to follow up the KingOfBirbs block with the blocking administrator. Can you do the same for me? I've tracked down Special:Contributions/Vote (X) for Change, but as you can see there's been nothing for seven years and there is no overlap. Also there's no evidence of "long-term abuse" in my contributions, so I think someone has got their wires crossed. 82.13.208.70 (talk) 17:55, 15 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Jayron32: You could have run the blocking administrator's comment past me before jumping to conclusions. I felt the comment was apposite in the circumstances and I attributed it to where I saw it - 31.52 10 November 2017. I've looked up 31.52.216.69's contribution record and in addition to this Reference desk contribution (s)he also edited Martin Callanan, Sherborne School, Sherborne, Erin Pizzey, Mikey Craig, Teresa of Ávila, Shifra Horn, Henry A. Wallace, Talk:Accounting scandals, James Cockle, Talk:Barlow Clowes, Gamma function, Illegal immigration to the United States, Empingham and Murder of Ann Maguire. Again, no abuse (long-term or otherwise) and no overlap with this "Vote (X) for Change". They were, however, briefly blocked by the same person who blocked me. Is there a vendetta in progress here?

On this KingOfBirbs thing, I got my information from a post on the Reference desk talk page. It's not there any more - it was reverted by Viennese Waltz claiming it was a "banned user". Are editors allowed to revert good faith comments without saying who they think the user is? WP:TPO suggests not. The question raised was why Coffee would remove talk page access from an editor making a civil unblock request after an invitation to do so. He hasn't addressed the point. 82.13.208.70 (talk) 14:55, 16 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

I grow weary of being your monkeyboy. Time to find another, I think.--Jayron32 05:27, 17 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Jayron32:It appears that "Vote (X) for Change" is the Ref desk Nazi troll. Have you seen enough to accept my appeal? 82.13.208.70 (talk) 18:58, 18 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Jayron32: Is there any reason why you have wiped all the questions for 20 January off the Miscellaneous desk? 82.13.208.70 (talk) 15:47, 22 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
