A barnstar for you! edit

  The Minor barnstar
Oh, goodness, thanks for adding that Mr Myktybek Abdyldayev is actually living on the WikiProject Biography template. My name isnotdave (talk/contribs) 17:17, 22 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
I should clarify I was making an assumption, for all I know he could have died today, often with the case of those without living parameters it's hard to determine, and the fact that some of these are groups of people is hard too. I'm trying to not be too controversial/sweeping in deciding which is alive/dead. 78.144.82.158 (talk) 18:10, 22 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • Haha, I was going to leave a "thank you" as well, but I'm just going to repeat, "I'm trying to not be too controversial/sweeping in deciding which is alive/dead", and congratulate you on your power. Don't let it get to your head! Or maybe you should run for ArbCom? Drmies (talk) 00:59, 23 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
TBF, your suggestion per Arbcom would probably actually work, and I don't have a positive opinion on my ability to adjudicate. That's not counting the whole iconoclasm of how I see this place and the entities/persons who run it, but that's getting in a tangent.
I appreciate your kind words. I do have an old (not banned before anyone freaks) account here if that does answer any questions. 78.144.82.158 (talk) 01:05, 23 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
Well, I'm one of the ones who sort of runs parts of it, and I plead guilty to not having done better than I could have. I figured you might have an old account, which does not bother me in the slightest: I am grateful for your help, and you've seen I'm not the only one. I'm not sure, though, if you realize how humored I was by your statement about life/death decisions: I am beginning to suspect you of writing fiction. All the best, and if there is anything I can do, or if you have any suggestions, you can find me on my talk page or via email. Drmies (talk) 02:00, 23 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
I have no individual blame for you to clarify, I have no personal knowledge of your administrative career, and my general points are often systemic ones which neither you or I could change in the current climate. Basically if an entirely different foundation was running it I wouldn't be crying. Self-awareness and the desire to improve is a much-needed skill as you have mentioned, shame not enough members use it. No worries, I was just having a rare moment of productivity, I'm more often on non-Wikimedia wikis, and you are more than welcome to privately contact me on other platforms if you so desire. My sense of humour can be divisive (dark + dryness can often alienate), so I'm happy it got a laugh out of you, but I'm somewhat serious in that in some of these it is hard to make a judgement and i'm particularly struggling with Indian parliament/barbershop groups; so if there's some official guideline of being able to presume dead that'd be a good step for me clearing this entire backlog.
I prefer human notes of gratitude anyway, which is why I respond to yours and not the boilerplate PLEASE SIGN UP NEW WIKIPEDIAN BE COMMUNITY ONE OF US THIS IS 500 LINKS templates. I'm going on far too much of a tirade, but I'm more than happy (other aspects inc. IRL considering) to look into anything you are working on here. 78.144.82.158 (talk) 16:16, 23 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
I also just realised you are actually part of ArbCom, which shows my own lack of awareness. Also by luck of timing there's some guy on a subreddit I frequent mad at you over something. Not wading in, just letting you know. It did lead me to your story about how you got tenure through this place though, so sincere congrats. 78.144.82.158 (talk) 16:33, 23 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Joe Johnson edit

Just wanted to say thanks for your edit to Joe Johnson by adding the reflist template which I forgot to add when creating the new section. I've placed it into the Performance and Rankings Timeline section. Andygray110 (talk) 23:11, 8 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

No worries. Seems you guys have a bigger problem with your main sources now being blacklisted anyway. 78.144.82.158 (talk) 23:14, 8 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
